Toro Rosso and RBR up in FP1 and FP2 in the wet. Might be wet for qualifying and dry for Sunday.

More people will be watching to see if Mercedes bounces back after Singapore.

Button keeping quiet about future plans and Lotus locked out due to financial woes.

I thought they're only locked out of their hospitality unit? Or is there a new development that I've missed?

phreezee
09-25-2015, 07:51 PM
Yeah just hospitality unit at this point.

I thought Lotus had backing PDVSA?

One of the big Lotus sponsors stopped paying until the Renault sale is finalized, so they're in a weird limbo state where they don't have enough money to run while they're trying to sell to Renault.

I said to myself that Kyvat was gonna mess up after he passed Bottas on the out lap. Robbed us of a pole battle with a seriously rookie mistake.

I think we can all agree that kvyats crash was pretty spectacular and severe. The fact that he got out of the car and just walked around as if nothing truly serious happened, is at the least, astounding. They talk about safety, but Jesus. That car was decimated on the one side. II am gutted that Lewis didn't get his crack at pole here this year. But damn.

I know the Honda sounds bad but hardly a comparable there.

The Honda was going into the pits while Mercedes was winding it out.

Mclaren can't develop a chassis. Even with a better PU they are still 5th or 6th in chassis development

Hoping for some decent chat here tonight with a normal for us hours race!

Pirelli has set minimum pressures to be way too high, lots of big teams complaining the tires overheat in long stints. Should be interesting to see if the back markers are sitting in the right temperature window with this change.

I would if I didn't have a baby on the way any second now. I'm supposed to be in Suzuka this weekend but gave my ticket to buh_buh's gf.

Fingers crossed the baby holds out till after the race.

Lauda whines about lack of TV coverage for Mercedes (http://www.espn.co.uk/f1/story/_/id/13751559/niki-lauda-questions-lack-mercedes-tv-coverage-suzuka). Because of course we'd all rather watch Hamilton drive around by himself than see McLarens getting passed about a hundred times. I mean, c'mon Niki, even rage has switched from Mercedes to Japanese power.

Funny hearing Ron Dennis call Alonso unprofessional for saying that his crappy Honda powerplant was crappy. Bernie already told the divers not to publicly criticize Pirelli, so it looks like F1 is headed the way of NASCAR, "If you don't have anything nice to say...." Farfetched? Well Vettel did make a nice pitch for Arai during the podium interview!

Umm. Rage has always been a Mclaren fan. If he could he would have an mp4-12c

Ps he runs a car forum, he isn't Bernie Ecclestone.

It wasn't about driver exposure, it'd about sponsorship payments. They get paid ad revenue for the total time their cars are shown. Lauder is all business. It was a financial decision.

Grosjean signed with Haas : https://www.haasf1team.com/news/haas-f1-team-selects-grosjean-driver

Ron Dennis was grilled by Sky Sports F1 after the race and apparently Button's retirement talk was all a negotiation tactic : http://www.skysports.com/f1/news/24180/10009517/button-winning-dennis-poker-game

Who knows what Alonso's game was after the GP2 engine comments. Dennis said he was just going to ignore it, but you gotta think something is going to come out of it.

With Button now confirmed at McLaren for 2016, I wonder where Kevin Magnussen will go.
