Not sure if this topic have been covered before.

When traveling outside Alberta (given majority of Beyonders are local/Calgary)

What travel insurance, medical insurance do you use? Second part of that question, if you're going away for extended amount of time (say over 30 days)

- Alberta health care
- Alberta blue cross, with paying for extended coverage (automatic cover for 17 days, anything over, it's per quote per day)
- Credit card (do you trust them to cover you if something really were to happen?) TD travel infinite, TD Aeroplan Privilege? Anyone used those/trust those having enough coverage?
- The insurance coverage offered when you purchase airline tickets (usually RBC if flying Aircanada)
- "I" don't worry about shit like this, if I die, I die on a trip
- Gofundme coverage

Since you can't double dip on coverage, so to me, it's just overkill if you purchase more than 2 IMO, but while having 2, at least you have options. And I suppose Alberta healthcare is just default for us non Beyond Ballers.

I don't use any additional coverage. I checked and my benefits at work have emergency coverage in case something happens abroad.

I suppose my CC also offer some coverage, though I've never really looked into using it. I think they cover delays and lost bags up to a certain (small) amount but never really bothered to use it since I assume its a hassle and they'd try and avoid paying any reimbursements.

Well if you are still inside Canada i wouldn't purchase shit, there are certain things that could cost you but probably not worth the insurance. I guess you could pay 20 bucks or something to cover a potential ambulance bill or something?

Travelling internationally i use my work policy (Great West Life) which covers damn near anything.

If i didn't have such a policy i would purchase supplemental from my bank just for the trip. Though i think my credit card had some coverage features. I don't understand them well enough to rely on them.

The Above is what is covered on an RBC Avion Card as a note. Never even bothered reading before. It actually sounds pretty comprehensive. I am likely better insured on vacation than at home

AMA reps Manulife CoverMe travel emergency. That's what I purchase for my folks who need to visit US.

Depends on risk and age, it was as low as $5 a day.

Make sure you have all the medical record in order and have your doctor go thru the survey if it's your 1st time buying it. When it come to claims, they will find any loop hole they can to avoid pay out. Typical insurance.

Don't know if Masked Bandit has any recommendation on this.

I'm still covered by work so I don't care.

I use Blue Cross + Extended. Gf uses TD Insurance. My Blue Cross rate was better for the same 89 day coverage.
