Anyone have experience with TCS's proprietary brand of filters? Particularly the PhotoRepublik Polarizer (on sale for $71.xx). Obviously not expecting Heliopan/B+W quality but anyone with first hand experience with them?

Thanks

No clue on this man, what filters are you looking for?

For $70 just buy something from a trusted brand. I don't know what size you need but for example here is a Hoya Slim 72mm for $70 and it's probably better than the house brand:

CPL, ND filters would be one of the very few items that I would cheap out as it can affect IQ if you're a pixel peeper.

Just buy a good one, they last a lifetime if you take care of them and you will regret buying a shitty one, especially on good glass. With a stepdown ring you can use it on all your other lenses too with no vignetting.

Also make sure you can use a lens cap with it - many of them, especially those labeled "slim", you can't and you have to use these terrible friction fit caps.

I like the Nikon Slim CPL II's, they have zero noticeable image degradation, are built really well, they are "slim" for little to no vignetting on wide angle, and they accept a lens cap. I've had a couple B&W ones and they were fine but I couldn't stand not being able to use a lens cap. They're also literally half the price in the USA if you have any trips coming up.

Or you think you can use a cap on it, then you find out the pinch cap has scratched the hell out of the filter.
