Where is the best place to buy a new computer? My current one is getting old. I use it for surfing the web and Netflix, no games really, other than minesweeper. I was looking at some of the ones at Costco and they looked like a good deal - is it possible to get a computer without Windows 10 though? It doesn't look very user friendly. Any tips or advice appreciated!

Honestly, why bother with a new box? A used/refurb would be a far better idea in your case.

New PCs would be 3000% overkill for basic websurfing, NLFX and Minesweeper!

^^^Newer computers would come with a few benefits like increased battery life, ssd etc. which would make it a little bit nicer to use.

Windows 10 is probably the most user friendly I have used though so I don't think that should be an issue and I don't think you can find anything new with 8.1 anymore anyways.

Memory express is a good place to look along with costco.

if all you need is a barebones computer, then I would recommend something along the lines of a mini computer.

you don't need much for what you are after.

Anyone have one of those VivoPc units?
I see there are a couple different ones, but I have a hard time thinking the one Rick posted for $359 is better than this one with an SSD and Win10 for $269. Especially when you could drop in another 4GB ram for $28.

I guess if a guy didn't want windows, the chromebox would work good too.

I have a client with one of those - very impressive little devices and perfect for the light user/kids.
