Current NHL all time top 50 in points, Wikipedia link (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_NHL_statistical_leaders#Regular_season:_Points) - holy crap, I've watched every one of these players live or on the television. Wikipedia article is not quite up to date, doesn't appear to include current years stats but probably would change much in who's in the top 50 and if it did, I most likely would've still seen all 50..

The most memorable for me include Stan Makita, Guy Lafleur, Dino Ciccarelli and Bobby Clarke - Lafleur was my boyhood hero and Clarke, well who couldn't like that toothless grin.

You'd think they would update the list and put Jagr above Howe. Its pretty significant.

It is stated in the article that those stats only include the last full season, I know it's significant but at the same time, the top 50 list in Wikipedia probably won't change with respect to the names on it.

I prefer this list: http://www.hockey-reference.com/leaders/points_adjusted_career.html

More relevant comparison.

What I find insane is the Pts/game stat. Look at Mike Bossy and see how much he dominated when he was playing.
His pt total doesn't reflect his dominance as he didn't play that many years.
Ya, a great team around him does wonders too with most of the top line, goalie and coach all in the HoF.

Jagr's stat's plotted against the greats.

Well regardless of which list people wish to reference, I just picked one and was kind of surprised I had seen every player on that list play hockey in the NHL..

With respect to Bossy, different era (still great though) but never the less I do believe the what Jagr has accomplished is quite amazing and #2 on the list will probably be his well. Personally, I'd like to see the league move towards a little bit more scoring through rule changes -hell, if NASCAR can change their 2016 rules package to loosen up their cars and make it more of a driver's game, the. I think the NHL could as well. Larger nets, smaller goalie equipment or a combination of both, just make the game a little bit more exciting. - then again, I grew up watching the NHL in the 60-70's and scoring was significantly higher back then and especially so in the 70 and 80's..

Bigger nets and/or smaller goalie equipment will increase in the first couple of years, but I think coaches and players are smarter nowadays and will learn to adjust to play better defensively. It won't last. Goalies were pretty useless back then. Remember when a goalie has a sub-3.00 GAA, he would be considered all-star?

The stand up kick save. Lateral movement was like watching C3-PO in goal.
The slide across two pad stack was earth shattering.

Haha! It's sad watching old footage of goalies now...and I used to think they were so awesome!
