Looking to get a radar detector/jammer/lidar setup in my vehicle, price isn't a huge concern. Any recommendations for where to purchase these items and get it installed.

Would like to get the works, have read a few of the threads here, but could still use some guidance.

Thanks

I remember when I was looking a couple years ago that the installed Passport 9500ci was pretty darn good.

I don't know what Calgary has. But up her in Edmonton we got radar trucks that sit on the over pass and hit you when you pass under. They are some new units and don't get picked up by radar detectors.
It's rediculous.

Edmonton has a massive arsenal of weapons used against speeders.

As for Calgary:

34.7GHz Ka in car moving radar
LTI Ultralyte for Laser
Ka/K photovans, instant-on

For a laser jammer: AL Priority, 2 front heads for car, 3 front for truck/suv. No need to really do rear laser jammers afaik CPS doesn't shoot laser from behind.

Radar detector: Escort Redline, Bel STI etc. Take your pick. The Redline seems to be real popular among the detector enthusiasts though.

Back when I was looking into this aggressively, the Blinder M20 was the best, but that was a while ago now and I'm guessing everyone has improved product out.

The best way to use them is immediately slow down and then turn them off if you get hit, so the officer can then get a proper reading the second time. Obviously they do not give you a free pass to drive like an idiot or speed excessively, the idea is to protect you from being the unlucky one while simply going with the flow of traffic in most cases.

Some cops (including one on here) claim they give obstruction of justice tickets out for these, which is wrong, and even they acknowledge that, but it creates an enormous hassle for the driver which becomes the real deterrent. Someone correct me if I'm wrong but I believe in order to willfully obstruct justice you would first have to be informed of of the trap in advance (which would defeat the entire purpose of a speed trap). On top of this, it would be much easier to simply make jammers illegal, but they aren't (I've read the AG was asked to do this and declined), so instead the officers use a roundabout backdoor method to nail you for it. Furthermore, they don't prevent the speed reading for more than a couple seconds, they just delay the reading until you turn it off. The other thing the officer can do is just nail you with an "estimated" speed ticket - bottom line, if they want to, you will get fined or put through enormous hassle one way or another.

The grey area of course is that the systems are passive, and if the jammer was obstruction, so would be simply driving a small, matte black car or a regular person slowing down when they spot the speed trap in time. I imagine it's difficult to convince a judge that you don't have a jammer installed for the express purpose of defeating lidar haha, so it's probably an especially annoying one to fight regardless.

Since you're in Calgary, radar detectors are largely useless. Most of the time it's Lidar, which can't be detected in advance (at best it will just tell you when you've already been hit). The rest of it is photo radar vehicles which stand out like a sore thumb, are always in the same spots, and if you are paying even the slightest bit of attention you won't get nailed by one. Jammers are the only useful thing for Calgary, but it's a bit riskier if you get pulled over and the officer wants to make your life difficult.

Almost always, but a couple weeks ago I got nailed on Westbound 42 Ave SE coming from Backfoot at 6:20 AM 65KM/H.
SUV was dark, in a dark parking lot (near Davidson Enman) I saw the flash and didn't actually believe it.
Next morning I drove past at 48KM/H and could barely see him.

Bastards. I've driven that route daily for 12 years....

Sometimes they are sneaky. I've seen it a few times now where they don't even hide, they just keep the vehicle completely dark and park it in a dark corner along the side of the road. Thankfully I've noticed every one so far (maybe I'm just paranoid and any parked vehicle gets my attention haha), and you have until actually pass the vehicle to react and slow down. I also think they use instant-on systems, so they are really hard to detect anyway if you have a radar detector.
