So many lolz

I think Nico wins this on his own merit like last year. But the story will be who is in front at RBR.

Where's the option for "Verstappen will smash Vettel"? haha

If Hamilton actually has a race with no mechanical problems or getting run off the road turn 1, he's going to take it. Barca is always a boring race, because every team has done a billion laps there (well except Renault or Honda haha) and they know exactly what tires, settings, wheel nuts, fuel pressure to use before even arriving at the track.

Rosberg's luck has GOT to run out haha. He's been luckier on reliability compared to Hamilton for the last 2 seasons too which is nuts.

I love how he turns to Lewis at the end, "did you know?"

I just hope someone else wins or at least a close battle for a change.

Not anytime soon I guess. Lewis is now on his 4th MGU-H and I think he has a new turbo now too. Guy can't catch a break.

Rosberg's fault there. Of all races to pull that off, it's where Dr. Z shows up. Was looking forward to seeing Mercedes try to win every race.

Edit - lauda blames Hamilton. Let the fireworks and Hamilton to Ferrari rumors begin!

Edit2 - replay shows Ham's front wheels alongside Ros rear wheels before forced off the track. Will be curious how FIA interprets that crash for penalties.

Rosberg at fault IMO. I was looking forward to Lewis' race.

After the meeting Lauda now says its Rosbergs fault.

McLaren needs to hold on here.

Looks like the Red Bull / Ferrari battle will come down to tire strategy more than anything.

Vettel sounding like an entitled bitch again on the radio. :(

So the start incident, what happened was Lewis had a better start, Nico used all of his ERS power to blow past Ham, and Ham concedes T1. At T3, Rosberg was out of ERS power, so the car goes into harvesting mode and Ham closes in at a crazy rate. That's how they got into the situation there.

18 year old Max Vestappen!

Youngest F1 winner. First time a watch engine wins a race too!

TAG Porsche doesn't count, TAG was just a holding company. :)

Nice job by Max!

Bad luck for Daniel with another puncture, not sure if he could have got past Vettel though.

A race well worth getting up for, finally! And the near future will be interesting!

Looks nice Nico was in the wrong mode and distracted with the steering wheel which caused him to not see Lewis' move. Still at fault IMO but let's see what the verdict is.

Yea, the TSN post race show is awesome, that analysis by Davidson was so detailed. Sums up this:

in videos perfectly. Looks like Nico "cheated" by using a different mode off the start which drained the battery to get by Ham in turn 1. What's crazy is after flipping modes back, he watched in his mirror as he forced Ham off the road, so can't say he didn't see him at all.

Good point, I missed your initial post. The pre and post race shows are great.

Looking forward to more close races like this one (minus the crash).

Good race especially with no merc :D

Was expecting kimi to catch max though so was I was very impressed he held on so well and didn't crack under pressure. :burnout:

I'm surprised TAG Heuer hasn't done a Max Verstappen "Don't Crack under Pressure" ad by now.

Ham interview - explains harvesting mode on Rosberg's car, it loses 180hp.

Ros interview - I wasn't distracted. I closed the door, he shouldn't be alongside.

Where can I watch the race

Damn it, my PVR stopped recording just prior to race start. Had it set to record preface +2 ours and race +2 but both went to black at the same time. I guess I have to search for another way to watch this one.

The puppet masters manufactured a fairy tale was the feeling I had about this race. It's moot anyway since Ricciardo had the puncture, and that should take some of the strategy sting away from Daniel.

That was an awesome race to watch!

What the fuck did I do when I was 18? Math.

I hope Lauda apologizes to Lewis after watching the footage/analysis again. Anyone who doesn't think it's at least 60/40 blame on Nico is crazy.

Nico's post race interview in the press pen was a stumbling, back pedalling mess.

Pascal Wehrlein subbed in for testing on the final day in Barcelona. Because of this Lewis won't be able to drive for Silverstone testing after the British GP as they need to run Ocon at least once this year.

Certainly an odd set of circumstances after the last result... Is there any good reason why they wouldn't have had Lewis do their testing today if indeed there was a legitimate reason why Ocon couldn't?

F1 Drama at its best this week...
