You know it's been dry when the pond up on Nose Hill is dry - normally has about two to two and a half feet of water in depth. In fact, we've can't remember not seeing that pond.

It's been pretty dry pretty consistently over the last 5 years at least. It's always under about 12" deep as well.

Nope, I can gauge the depth when it was at it's highest based upon the height on my daughter's legs when she had waded into it in the past.

Nah. Lake mead 1073 feet is dry. 51 Celsius in India is hot.

The grass around me is as green as its ever been.

Lake Mead is not relevant to this little pond in any way and no one mentioned anything about it being hot.

All I know is this past winter and this current spring season have been the driest and warmest for the time I've lived in Calgary and that's been more than a couple of decades now.

Sure people can pull up all the stats they want if they search hard enough but I'll stick by what I've seen and experienced.

There are at least 3 I believe.
SW corner near Shag and John Laurie
On the very top but closer to 14st
Near sandstone on the north side

One good thing though, a very noticeable decrease in the mosquito numbers.

The low mosquito count is awesome. I assume if we get a week or rain, they'll come back though.

I didn't notice many mosquitoes until today! Tons outside my house. I assume it's from my neighbor's two garbage pails that sits uncovered outside all year. Larvae must have hatched.

I am going to get myself one or two of these. Likely the non zapper so we can take with us when hiking.
