The PFC models have a way better inverter in them than any of the AVR models. True sine compared to simulated sine. PFC is compatible with all devices, AVR will have issues with some DC power supplies. All switching DC power supplies will run slightly cooler with the better waveform.

Its a no brainer to order the 1500VA PFC model for less than the price of the 850VA PFC(189$) or 1500VA AVR(189$) model.

I got a couple of the 1000VA AVR models about a year ago and they've been flawless. Great price at $50 new in sealed boxes, TV, sound bar, XBOX360 on one, TELUS fiber modem, network stuff and main desktop on the other.

if anyone needs a UPS that will last 24 hours running a computer (this is what i did during the flood)

take a old UPS 1500 you can get from kijiji with no battery for 15-30 some people just toss them out (get a big one due to amps or it will overheat and cause fire)

buy two deep cycling batteries from walmart (80 each)
connect them in series so they are 24 volts

i mine has been online since june 22 2013 , i did a test a few days ago it left my PC on all night, with the switches monitors, etc.
