Heading down to LA for 4 days in July. Any recommendations on places to go, things to see, places to eat etc? Shopping?

There's a bizillion threads on SoCal tourist stuff. Depends on if which part of LA you're in unless you wanna be stuck in traffic for half of the day. Two places I'd like to check out on a future visit would be the Grand Central Market which is like Seattle Pike Place with lots of unique eateries and Little Tokyo would be interesting too if you like Jap stuff.
