Looking to send off my steering wheel to get redone in Serbia.

What is the best shipping carrier from experience to handle an international shipment like this?

Any with tracking. Go with FedEx. They're expensive as shit, but my packages never get lost nor arrive (horribly) late.

If you want cheap Canada Post would be the cheapest.

If you tell me the dimensions and where it is going I can see what my quotes look like

DHL is more common in Europe ... Probably better pricing than fedex

Dimensions are tricky to measure as the steering wheel is on my car now. I'll try to find exact dimensions of an mk1 audi tt steering wheel and post it up. The air bag will be removed prior to shipping it so it should be pretty light.

Its going from Calgary to Belgrade, Serbia

I'm sure you've considered this already but worth asking...

Is the total cost of work in Serbia + shipping that much less than someone in NA?

Measure from the top of the steering wheel to the bottom and then from the left to the right. I'm guessing you would put it in a square box that size. Unless you have a source for circular boxes (which will not benefit you in saving money).

Will do that once I get off work, I'm guessing it would fit in a 14" by 14" box

If I get a decent shipping price (ie 100 and under) then its worth it. I haven't seen anyone in NA with this kind of craftsmanship so I don't mind paying a little more.

To give you an idea of a discounted rate.

14" x 14" x 9" (15lbs) to Belgrade (11000) - $161.64 and it would take 2 days via DHL

I don't think you will be able to do this under $100. Canada Post is right around $120 and that is via Ocean.

Cool, thanks for looking into that. I'll bring the wheel into a DHL and Canada post and compare cost and travel times.

Ending up using Canada Post Air Parcel. Cost 176 and it gets there between 4 to 10 business days.

Beats Fedex rate of 350....
