Been seeing a few 2007 Explorers for <$5000...anything to look out for on these?? They seem quite decent looking for the price range...

It's for my wife during bad snow days and also I need something for hauling stuff. ..f'n G back seats don't fold down :banghead: and also as a third spare vehicle in car mine or the wife's Beetle needs repairs.

My buddy just sold his 2006 Ford Explorer Eddie Bauer SUV for $7200.

They seem to be better vehicles than I thought but I don't know much about them.

Good luck with your search, man!

I had an 04 with the 4.0, loved it. Easy to fix, tank in the snow but a bit heavy on gas

Okay good to know, I haven't found much reporting on Google for troubles so it must be a good sign. ..might be worth the gamble instead of buying an ugly old 4 runner...my other option is a 2005/2006 Grand Cherokee. Gas mileage isn't an issue as it will be a very occasional driver.

My dad has a 2006 that he bought brand new. Still daily drives it and he loves it. It an Eddie Bauer with the V6. Solid suv, nice and comfy and the only thing he has ever really have to fix is the radiator because rocks can fly up and crack/break the fins easier. Other than that its been a great truck. His has about 180xxx km on it. He's driven calgary to arizona a few times and does the trip from the okanagan to calgary a few times a year as well. Tows a seadoo easy and has more than enough space for everything. With winter tires its darn good in the snow and ice as well.

Those GC's are also not bad, relative of mine had one for 2 years and loved it
