Read a few news articles about them, and none give list of effected models.

Articles refer to Samsung websites for more info.

Maybe I'm internet illiterate, but I can't find the list of models.

Is this intentional on their part?

Why would they make it so hard to determine if I bought a crappy recalled product from them?

Samsung isn't very good at recalls so no clue how accurate that page is lol.

Here is the link for Canadian owners.

I have one of the affected units and not sure if I should take their repair option or the rebate option.

Yeah we have a front load Samsung, and really like it. Well my wife does, I've only used it a grand total of once.

Yeah the issue is only present in toploading models. Our Samsung frontloaders have been pretty good, the dryer's tensioner pulley bearing went out after 2 years, but it was a $50 part and the dryer was incredibly easy to service.

I got one of the affected models, opted for the in home repair as we like the washer, and we were only offered $480 bucks (it shows what you would get if you go to the Canadian site and start filling out the form after entering the model number and serial number. We just got this thing a few years ago, not ding or a scratch on it and looks fantastic still, definitely won't find a replacement for $480, especially a matching one.

I have seen the drum inside get very unstable with bedding or water proof items, it always stops spinning once the vibrations get too high (always at slow speed during spinup), at which point it stops, fills water again, and tries to spin the load around to redistribute it. I think in the few years we had it it only errored out twice where we had to remove some bedding and rebalance the load manually.

Mine is this sucker, wife didn't want a front loader

Top load is good for when you find a stray sock!
But Samsung also solved this issue with add wash
