Netflix announced the new option in a Tweet and short blog post but the company didn’t release many details. The new feature works on iOS and Android devices but not all content will be downloadable – so far it looks like the shows you can watch offline include Netflix’s original content and a few other programs. The download option isn’t unique to Netflix. In fact, Amazon’s Prime Video streaming app has long allowed offline viewing.

I think this is awesome for long road trips, or flights.
Grab a tablet or smart phone, download content at home to your hearts content, and then watch it offline where ever...
I know other providers have allowed this for some time now, but here in Canada where we have access to pretty much only netflix, its a welcome feature
