My previous claim ran out, and I had to wait a week period in between to file for my next claim from the job I just had. The contact number 1800-206-7218 always says the call volume is too high to be transferred into queue. Is there a better option? As I need to get this activated.

I've heard that call volume is later in the day.

As it was explained to me, when you call the 800-number, it goes to a national call centre. So when you call at like 8am, you're joining a pool that includes callers from out east for whom the line has been open for 2 hours.

By calling later in the day (like after the closing time out east), you're only competing with those in your time zone and those in BC.

It says they're open 830-430. I've tried the morning, lunch time. So maybe around 330-4 would be the best then, I'll try that thanks!

When you get the message about call volume is too high, you press '1' which takes you back to the main menu. You choose '0' again, and then '1' again if it's still not letting you in. Just 1 and 0 until it lets you wait on hold. Then leave it on speakerphone as you wait.

I've been doing that 'trick' but now you have to listen to the intro message everytime you press 1, and go back to the menu.

Awesome, finally got on hold for half hour and the call just hung up on me... Had it on speaker the whole time and then just hear beep beep.
