What do you guys use for wordpress hosting? All the service provider reviews seem so biased and ranked based on with affiliates paid the most.

Those affiliate reviews are garbage as you've discovered. I've gone with what WordPress developers are using. They too bounce around from host to host, there are a few stable and trusted hosting companies out there.

Depends on your needs and budget. I've used Flywheel since 2015 for my own site as I'm not wanting to deal with the BS of hosting. Trouble free, never think about it and the site is really fast. They even do the site migration for you: https://getflywheel.com/

Bigger budget and needs: https://wpengine.com/

If you are somewhat comfortable with setting up a host, use SiteGround. They have customer service to walk you through it all: https://www.siteground.com/

I also have an account at HostGator (excellent client service from Texas) since 2006, some dozen sites over there as I'm too lazy to migrate them to SiteGround. Maybe this year.

I'd avoid GoDaddy for sure and HostGator overall. Just not as WordPress friendly as FW, WPE and Siteground.

I've had disastrous experiences with SiteGround and do not recommend them at all... ever. For any reason. Period. Ever.

WP-Engine is the way to go if you want a no-BS, 100% WordPress host. Their dev environments are easy, and migrating from dev to live is super simple.

I've had better-than-average experiences with HostGators WP hosting.

Good advice above.

Have a friend host mine, he's doing it for free :bigpimp: Helped me set it up which was huge for me since I have no idea about stuff like that. I've had no complaints. I just pay for the domain yearly.

Huh, Cam, sucks to hear you['ve had problems with siteground. That's who I'm with, and I've had no issues. Also, customer service is absolutely amazing. Have used their live chat multiple times, and have been impressed each time.

Both times I used their support resulted in disaster. One time they password-protected my root domain, taking the entire site offline. They did this overnight- I didn't catch it until the early morning.

The support ticket was about creating a dev staging environment and had nothing to do with the root domain.

YMMV.

Maybe it's lucky for me I don't know what any of that means. Ignorance is bliss so far! :nut:
