It's almost that time of the year for the big April trip.

I've done some basic research into the 3 cities.

Just seeing if you guys have any tips on where to stay, some of the must dos and general advice to avoid getting owned. Don't sign your name on a piece of paper, don't let anyone look after your stuff, be weary when strangers offer help etc. :nut:

General outline is as follows:

Day 1 Travel
Day 2 to 5 in Madrid (1 day excursion to Toledo)
Day 6 to 9 in Barcelona
Day 10 to 14 in Marrakesh (3 day tour to Erg Chebbi)
Day 15 fly back to Madrid
Day 16 fly back to Canada
Day 17 back to the grind

The gf and I aren't the most exciting dynamic travelers. We tend to enjoy those hop on hop off buses so we can get a feel for the City.

So the usual museums, plazas, palaces, we want to take in a soccer game, flamenco show and bullfighting. This is what Spain is all about right? Where did you guys get your tickets for the above?

For Marrakesh did anyone go to the Ouzoud Waterfalls? Looks kinda cool but the main thing will the be the IG pic of being on a Camel in the Sahara desert. Look at me! Give me a like!

Anyway, whatever you guys have to offer, please share.

I was in Spain/Morocco in June and the heat destroyed me, so April might be a good time.

Spain is pretty standard, flamenco dancing is more common on the south side so you may get those touristy gimmicky flamenco dancing in Madrid. Bull fighting is pretty messed up, but if you're into it, I think you can get tickets through your hotel/online. Most tickets are sold online, and I think the bigger attractions you need to buy them at least a day or two before. If you have any flexibility I'd spend more time in Barcelona than Madrid.

Temple of Debod was probably my favorite attraction in Madrid and it's not even Spanish
Park Guell for Barcelona
Marrakesh markets are annoying, but if you're used to the hustle and bustle and the greasy salesmen, you'll be fine. I know women aren't allowed to be alone in Marrakesh without a man, so be careful of that.
camping in the sahara desert was probably the best, just bring proper gear so you don't get burnt

Was in Spain in the fall and Morocco in the Spring.

Barcelona is a blast. We had fun just exploring the city. Buy a train pass as its pretty easy to get around by train.

Never did the bull fights as that seems pretty fucked up to me.

Park Guell for me was over rated. Just another massive rush of tourists in one area.

Sagrada Familia was awesome and wasn't that busy if you get there early.

Our favorite thing in Barcelona was all the amazing tapas places and awesome bars. Parasiso is a must go to cocktail bar. Its through a door in a ham shop.

Marrakesh was fun, market was busy but a fun experience. There is a really nice garden there as well Majorelle which was owned by YSL. The girlfriend will like the shopping around there too.

There was a really cool club we went to called Epicuren at the Casino that had life music and really reasonable bottle service.
