Again after 30 years

Yupp, I'm headed to Sunshine Village this morning to go downhill skiing.

The last year that I can remember strapping on the boards was 1986, 30 years ago. Not even sure why I stopped, probably more full time relationships turned me in different directions and then family and various volunteer commitments that just always kept me busy.

So here I am now, a couple of mid-20's kids taking me out (one of them a beyonder). I'll be wearing a helmet, first time for that while skiing. Skis are way different too. Probably won't attempt anything as crazy as I used to, any run at Sunshine or Lake Louise used to be fair game to me, hell Goats Eye and Delirium Dive didn't exist when I last skied.

Here's to not breaking a leg.

Well, not dead yet. 3 wipeouts already, mostly because I'm venturing where I shouldn't be - the powder in the trees is just too enticing.

Well I survived and had a much better day than I expected. After lunch I had become accustomed to the new style skis and actually did a couple of small black diamond runs. It was a very good day.
