The person in the photo stole our Amazon deliveries today and was seen prowling the neighborhood.

The photo was taken as he was leaving a neighbor's yard.

It is a long shot but I hope that someone recognizes the vehicle.

Following around the UPS or intellcom dude seems like a smart way to get yourself some new stuff.

Took the dog out for a walk the other day and was looking at the porch of houses and it was staggering how many packages were being left in the wide open for people to just come and take.

He's clearly Irish. That's quite a jig.

Glad I could help.

They always try delivering during business hours anyway so your for sure gonna get it or co-workers will hold for you. Best method

Or live in a good area like a cul-de-sac and have good neighbors. Had my lawn mower delivered, told them to drop off by the front door, they just left it in front of my front attached garage. Luckily still there when I got home

Apparently there's people who open them at your doorstep and only take it if it's of value to them

Looks like a 2003 era Protege5 with some damage on the passenger rear door handle.Obviously from a bad non cul de sac area in the NE. :D

Added a banana for scale.

The police dropped by. Two of the nicest folks ever.
Slightly better images. Will let them handle this.

I love my condo for this. Only 4 people on my floor and I know all my neighbours. Intercom calls my phone, buzz them in, left at my door. I get probably 2-3 packages a week and never had a single problem.

If it helps the police, that's a 2002 Protege5, not a 2003. The wheels are off a 2003, but the 2003's had black headlights, and a side marker signal light on the fender. Likely it's a 2002.5 but as far as registration is concerned, it's a 2002.

This. Unless you're in a condo building with a staffed security desk/reception. Getting anything delivered to your house is just asking to have it stolen. Couriers leave stuff on the steps even when it says signature required, and chances are it will be sitting there for 5-6 hours before you're home from work. At the absolute very least have it delivered to a neighbor if you aren't going to be home.

Amazon customer service will send you another one though if you just tell them you never received it.

or you could build a box with something like this, and put a note on it for the courier to place the parcel inside and press the lock to lock it.

Wont stop someone who is really determined but it'll deter the common opportunistic thief.

Or sign up for this free service, basically a free PO box and they email you when you have a delivery waiting for pickup at your chosen post office. Sucks that it wont work for couriers but its good for anything sent canada post.
