getting charged with it and run??

okay, well back in april i was driving to make a left turn when some lady in an suv come up beside me honking her horn just as i am about to turn left but i was able to turn away from here. so maybe i was a little to far to the right or my blinking light was dead.

but i didnt get out of the vechicle as i never hit her and i thought everything was okay so i just contuined on. but on may 4 i got a letter saying she was gonna charge me with hit and run and police have been calling my house and i have been trying to call them back and have been leaving them messages aand they haven't called back. but today(oct 7) a poilce man came to my door wanting to talk about it and he is sending it to the hit and run department and so i might be getting charged with hit and run even tho i never hit her.

so i was just wondering what i should do about it. should i just wait to see what turns out from it or should i do something about it?

and if i am getting charged with hit and run what should i do about that since i nver hit her?

She needs evidence to charge you... try and contact her and talk to her? Ask her what evidence she has, any witnesses?

I wouldn't worry about it. My wife one time WATCHED as this older lady keyed our van (she was pissed because we had appearantly parked a little too close to her..what is it with Alberta parking stalls)..anyways she was about 50 feet away and WATCHED her do it....ran over and tried to stop her as the lady was driving away and mocking her smilling at my wife while giving her the finger.

Now this "little old lady" was more like a 60 year old, Bingo-playing-two-pack-a-day-straight-wiskey-drinking tough old broad.

After the police went to her door and interviewed her, he came back to us and said "Ohhh..I don't think she really did that. She seems nice and says she didn't and so its your word against hers in a court of law". End of Story.

Just look the cop straight in the eye and say "prove it...bye now!!"

She needs evidence. Tell the cop you blew her a kiss and she took offense so is making up this wild story.

One SMALL TEENY WEENY little fact that makes this not even in the same ball park. One DID happen, along with evidence up the ying yang....the other is a mere ALLEGATION of an offense with no proof whatsoever.

If someone is guilty of it...nail them...if someone is an asshole and just making up stories to take up time and resources then lets not waste police and courts time. Agreeable??
