update: so i got a call last night from strathmore rcmp saying that they found my car, but it was set on fire, and apparently beyond repair.

so now i wait until tuesday to hear from my insurance adjuster.

any help/advice that anyone wants to contribute as to what happens next would be appreciated. i've never made a claim through insurance, this is my first time.

one other question, can i do down to the impound lot and see my car? or are there reasons why i shouldn't go down? i just want to see it with my own eyes......

i believe you have every right to go see your car...so go see your car and make a prayer for it...seriously i know how you feel


i would start making a list of things you had in the car, all valuble stuff and all the mod you may have put in this car.... try to make a value of the car and hpefully your insurance gives you the money of the same value as if you were selling it...

i have never been thur with it but i think that would be something i would do....hopefully someone can put a light on this

your car will be along the fence at the impound lot.
you can just walk up and check it out. Unless the RCMP have a differant lot that it's stored at

no the rcmp said that it was going to be towed to the impound lot here in calgary.....

but i guess more specifically, if i go to the impound lot, and wanted to go inside to see my car up close, not through a fence, would they allow it? or would they turn me away for any reason at all?

I think you might be turned away just for the fact it is involved in a crime. Not 100% sure.. I would just down there and find out.

ok, so i went down and seen my car today....wow. i couldn't believe what i seen....i was so hurt....this was one of the worst days of my life....

i swear to god, if i could catch the fuckers who did this, they would never ever be capable of stealing another car. ever.












this has honestly been one of the worst experiences of my life. i lose my car, get to drive a shitty rental, and now fight with insurance to get what my car is worth out of them....god damn this sucks.

edit: and just for good measure, i'd figure that i'd add this little bit. if i were to take everything salvageable from the car, i would be stuck with a fuel door, 2 taillights, and the passenger side rear wheel.
