Shame on the feds for holding on to the tape for as long as they did. This obviously reeks of a cover up and I pray that the power-tripping cops responsible for this man's death are prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law.

I hope the man's mother sues the cops responsible for wrongful death.

Fucking RCMP...those shitheads...ever since the goverment issues them their new toys. Its rediculous the man was unarmed...what happened to the good old take down tactic? there was 4-5 RCMP officers around him(1 unarmed suspect), why the fuck would they need to taze him?

They say there has been 16 deaths involving the use of tasers. 6 of which was in BC. Never once the taser was blamed for the deaths. We'll see how this one will turn out after the autopsy.

fuck these cops. If i someone breaks into my house and i shoot them, i go to jail for murder. These cops, like many others, will get away with nothing after MURDERING someone. They could have subdued him and cuffed him. Heck I could have subdued him and cuffed him. You don’t need to use a deadly weapon because they guy was acting like an idiot. And a Taser has been proved time and time again as a deadly weapon. If anything it should be treated just like a gun. Only fire when you want your target to be killed. IF your target lives, consider it a bonus.

On a side note, I wonder how much more outrage there would be if this guy was Black, Asian or East Indian and not some generic white Polish dude.

Even though he was aggitated and somewhat scared, (understandably) and did a few stupid things during his emotional ordeal. The police did not even need to touch a Taser. There were MANY things they could have done outside of the choice they made.

I am not anti-cop by any stretch of the imagination, but this was complete bullshit that they took action as they did. They could have detained the man with minimal body force. They did not even attempt to calm him down or get an interpreter to "resolve" the situation. Better use a weapon, he might punch through your bullet proof vest and hurt you!

I was at the Hitmen game last night. I decided to grab some food in the third period. A young man was removed from his seat for apparently throwing something. He refused to leave and started his debate with security in the hall. It was verbal when I left and extremely physical when I returned. This (18yr old?) was literally taking on 7 Security guards and resisting what turned out to be an arrest. They completed their job as Security without weapons. This kid put up a fight, the polish man did not!!!

well, it wouldnt even be a fight. It was four of them that could have easily taken him down. The guy at that moment was doing nothing but standing still. He also had no weapon. If he was waving a knife around i could see them being justified to Taze him. But again, that was not the case.

They also stood by for what? 12 min before paramedics showed up? None of them even attempted at administering CPR even though they should all have been trained in it.

Saw the vedio on the news last night. It was very disturbing. They held the guy for 10 hours in a holding place. I think i would loose it too after 10 hours of B.S.

The RCMP was told that he did not speak any english. But on the Vedio it shows the RCMP talking to the guy in English an yelling at him. Like what the fuck. HE DOES NOT UNDERSTAND ENGLISH ass holes......

So they taser the guy to keep him down. He stops breathing while the RCMP still has his knee on the guy neck.

These idiots should be charged with murder and striped of their uniforms.

He was held up at customs for a very long time, his mother had come to pick him up and left after she waited something like four hours for him and he never showed.

Flying is a very stressful and frustrating experience for many and I think they need to train cops to deal with people in airports differently or have police posted at the airports. I would assume everything was probably delayed and even harder due to the fact the man did not speak english which was probably even more frustrating for him trying to communicate with customs and airport officials which we all know can be annoying to say the least.

I agree the taser was used inappropriately and not needed. I dont' think this man posed any threat physically to the police or others. Also to let someone sit there for 12 mintues not breathing in cardiac arrest is crazy. As a normal citizen I know you are not obligated to help but as a police officer they would all have basic medical training and CPR may have saved his life.

It is a sad story all around. Makes you wonder how police in Britain can do such a good job and they still don't carry guns.

You know, I'm usually the first one to defend the cops, especially against people who for some reason think that cops should abide by playground rules of fair fights....but these guys really screwed up bad here, on so many levels. A knife is deadly force. Chances are, they wouldn't even think about a taser, but instead be using 9mm bullets to end the situation.
