Discrepancy In Post Count?

I've noticed that my number of posts as listed on my profile page:

Is less than number given if view my posts through the "search" button (right now, 1078 versus 1547):

http://forums.beyond.ca/search.php?s...archid=5549491

What gives?

Is there a certain threshold require for post size in order for it to be attributed to your profile (and I'm assuming in contributing to your "gear"), while all posts you've made, regardless of size will show up in search?

And... I noticed that the above post bumped the search number to 1548, but the profile number remains at 1078...

Posts in general etc. don't count toward post count, if it did I would have a bazillion.

Because like the join date rule, people used to postwhore and ridicule based on number of posts, so posts in lounge stopped counting, and forum changed to post count per day.
