Once a fan favourite, requests for Chris Brown’s music have turned into scorn and a local radio station is pulling the plug on his music, at least for now.

After reports surfaced of the serious charges against the singer after Rihanna was allegedly assaulted at an after-party on Sunday, public outcry has trickled into Calgary and Energy 101.5 hasn’t played Brown’s music since Monday morning, program director Rob Mise confirmed.

“Right now there is a lot of speculation and we would like to get some clarification, but right now the right thing to do is not to play his music,” Mise said.

Mise said the radio station caters to women and will not play Brown’s music until the facts are straightened out.

“The message is loud and clear that until this is clarified nobody can even enjoy his music right now,” Mise said

A local women’s organization is applauding Energy 101.5 for the move, though they aren’t surprised, as they say the radio station is a strong supporter of the YWCA.

“I think the media is a powerful medium … and this sends a strong message that this is unacceptable,” Arlene Adamson of the YWCA added.

I agree myself it is demanded but right now the majority of the age group they cater to is calling in saying don't play chris brown due to what happen I think it's the right thing to do for temp till everything is figured out as women with kids don't want that being portrayed as a good thing to do. It won't last forever maybe a month at most !
