wasteful spending quote:

what do you spend money that others just dont understand and think your wasting your money?

Ive gone through a few phases where I look back now and wonder what I was thinking when I was spending my money.

$40 hair cuts?

How about the car hobby in general? Being a tuner can empty your wallet pretty quick.

Do you spend half your paycheck at the bar?

Do you fill your car with nothing but premium gas and run nothing but synthetic oil and your car is 15 yr old civic with 250k and fart can?

Two expensive hobbies i see on Beyond is RC cars and collecting sneakers. I have friends who are into both and cant believe the insane amounts of money they spend on it. The sneakers guys at least have some sort of chance of getting back.

Whats your vice?

Going to the casino, some people are worse than me. I usually bring $140 and play craps. During the summer i was up about $800( which is not a bad haul for me) Now im up about $150? if that. It was a lot of fun. Now I go rarely!

I think JWSLAM will have the same answer as me.

those have nothing on this thread

http://forums.beyond.ca/st/173533/nice-watches/

watches are a bad one.... cars are even worst.... especially since i can never stick with the same car, just dump money into a different one (or two) every season... then sell at a loss

use to spend a lot at the bars, never really got into the whole casino thing, boring if you ask me

Back in the day I spend $6500 on a custom turbo kit for a 94 civic. That was by far the stupidest thing I have ever spend that kind of money on. It lasted like 4 months...blew the headgasket, parked it and sold the whole car for $5k. ugh.

Fuck I used to be bad like this. My old boss would sometimes pay me in cash and I would go out with $2000++ never a good idea. Same thing happened when I went shopping with a wallet full of cash come home with more shit then I ever needed.

To be honest I was just thinking about 'bullshit spending' that people here talk about...

There are certain things I can never understand why people even think about...

1. Brand name clothes, sunglasses, watches
2. $40 + haircut I always get $12 haircut and never even gave a thought to 'spa', 'saloon'
3. Sneakers, not as much because I guess its a collection
4. ^^$500 @ bars

Last month I threw $200us in the garbage. I had bought some us cash when the exchange rate was good. Then I got paranoid and hid it inside of a newspaper in my room. I then forgot all about it, cleaned my room and threw out the newspaper. It didn't occur to me until a couple days later.

My worst thing, even though it's not even that bad, is energy drinks, hahaha. I've cut down on all my extra spending on pretty much anything, and the only thing I "treat" myself to is energy drinks. Pretty lame.

As for haircuts, I bought a $25 dollar set of clippers and shave my head whenever I want. I used to spend 25-30 a trip.

I would think that most "normal" people would see my racing as wasteful. I mean, I'm a college student, I should be saving money right? Instead I'm buying plane tickets to go out east all the time, and we won't even start to talk about my safety equipment costs

I do what I want, when I want, and I always end up having just the right amount of money to make it through the year before I work my 4 month summer job And its not that I don't save money, I'm one cheap SOB. But it is hard for me to justify having money in the bank (anymore then I actually need) when I am going to school.

Other then racing though, I don't spend money on ANYTHING. Basic necessities needed to live. I guess I travel to Red Deer every weekend, which is wasteful ($30-$40 in gas per week). But other then that, NOTHIN!

You know it seems like its just a toonie at the time, but I've realized in the past 3 days I've spent at least $20 at Tim Hortons...

Edit - I suppose thats not really that crazy to some people, I'd say most people visit Tim Horton's or Starbucks or what ever. But looking back its a lot of money.
