Bump - if anyone has any good paid / subscription links I'd also be interested in hearing your reviews. GlobeInvestor's Stock Screener and StockCharts.com have both made me consider paying for the upgraded service.

I'd love some connections in the oil and gas industry. More stuff like Scott Saxburg's link to CPG (as CEO) and WSX (as Director), for example...

A lot of info can be found in the annual reports of those companies. Specifically the number of shares owned, bought and sold each year and the number granted as compensation in the form of options and restricted stock. Listed for each director and senior executive.

I'm more interested in following when directors / executives pick-up stock on the market - not through compensation or dividend reinvestment plans. Also looking for an "alert" type thing - even if it's a site I have to check daily to see any activity within the companies I follow.

I don't know of any website that provide this info. There are a couple of newsletters that say they do, but I have my doubts about the timliness of the info. For this to be truly valuable, you need to find out about the insider trade, and be able to execute your trade on the same market day. That's a pretty tight window. Even if these subscription newsletters were accurate, a few hours delay could make it useless.

I completely disagree. Insiders aren't supposed to time their purchases. Small insider purchases don't provide very big daily swings anyways. What it does provide, however, is a good indication of their long-term view of the company and management's faith in their strategy - after all, they do have inside information.

The more important thing I'm looking for is a way to cross-reference executives and directors - find out what CEO is on the board of what juniors, for example, and look for connections in jr's that flip every 3-4 years to the bigger guys.
