Default 09 Kia Rio: Dashboard not lighting up

Hey guys, the wife drives an 09 Kia Rio. Recently I changed some of the lights to LEDs. A couple didn't work out so I switched them back to regular bulbs (tail lights blew fuses, parking lights just didnt work). Replaced the blown fuses.

The dome lights and reverse lights are still LED and work fine.

After this I noticed the dashboard wasn't lighting up. Gauge clusters, stereo controls (stereo display illuminates still), and console shifter.

Fuse for cluster is good. All other fuses in vehicle are good.

Car has a remote starter, when used to start vehicle the dash does light up. Which tells me all the lights and fuses associated do in fact work.... Put keys in, turn to run, stays light. Hit break pedal, dash turns off.

Other minor issue: when starting with remote starter, or locking/unlocking, the tail lights and parking lights used to flash. Now only the passenger side does. Both tail lights work once the key is in the ignition though.

Problem with the starter maybe? Burnt ground wire somewhere? I'm lost.

EDIT: all lights have been changed back to normal. LEDs removed. Problem still exists.

Sometimes you need LED lights that have built in resistors. I had replaced some lights in my car before and released that the new bulbs didn't work due to ohm of the new bulbs.

I ordered all canbus type (with resistor) LEDs. THe parking lights I believe didn't work because they were metal body and made contact with the housing, I ordered some new plastic type. In the meantime I put the stock bulbs back in. The tail lights I read somewhere may need to be SRCK type but I can't confirm that anywhere.

Right now just trying to get the cluster lights working again, I'll tackle everything else afterwards.

    Bumping this for input.

I changed all lights back to stock, still have the same issues. Dashboard wont light up with keys in ignition. Passenger tail light wont light up with keys in ignition. Both work with autostart. But drivers side lights dont work with autostart.

Ripping my hair out here. Fuses all good. Can't find any shorts.
