Since Beyond has never steered me wrong I need someone to come in and fix my fireplace. Pilot light is out, tried following the instructions to get it going again but no luck. Could use a good cleaning too.
Thanks in advance

I'm in the same boat. My pilot is on but the fireplace never stays on when you flip the switch.
99% of the time it's the switch. Replace it. I had the same thing happen to me.Originally posted by A790

When I had my fireplace installed the guy told me those "decora" switches aren't very durable and reccomended the old school type for the fireplace.

Use a microvolt switch, and clean up the wires of any oxidation. You're basically switching the really low current from the flame sensor, so any resistance is a problem.
To the OP, does the pilot light, but not stay lit? Have you tried cleaning the flame sensor?
Doesnt light at all
I need a new switch as well for mine in the living room. The wireless remote is the worst invention ever when it comes to fireplaces. Mine looks like a 2 wire system but I have zero experience with this type of thing so I have put it off for 2 years now haha.
Not trying to thread jack but if someone can suggest what is a decent replacement I would be greatful.

Your tears fuel me
I had Mr. Fireplace come in. Fixed and cleaned it up real nice for about $140 all in. Overall I am pretty satisfied.
