    Default Security camera for home

Thinking of installing one security camera outside my home to record over night or when I'm away... living in the hood my whole life has been great but recently, some new neighbours have got me second guessing how safe it will be to park my cars outside.

Let me know if you guys have any suggestions, have done some research and found most cameras need multiple cords hooked from outside to inside, wondering if anyone has a simple system that they are happy with, please share!

Question is, how do you run power to these things? If you attach it to your soffit do you need to run AC power through your attic?

What stops someone from just coming up beside or behind the camera and unplugging it?

I have these at my place: http://www.memoryexpress.com/Products/MX51992

They're PoE so I run one network cable and I'm done. Could be kind of a pain in the ass if you don't know how to fish cables.

For monitoring software I use BlueCherry.

Holy markup batman! Those are re-branded Hikvisions, damn good cameras but shouldn't be that expensive.

I get the bullet version of them http://www.memoryexpress.com/Products/MX51991

    for $89.00 shipped from China.

^^Looks like NCIX has them for only $160 though with free shipping. They generally have trendnet stuff for cheaper. They do seem pretty neat though with POE so no power outlet and then I could record straight to my nas.

I ended up buying this camera from Nelly's Security back in March:
    http://www.nellyssecurity.com/eyesur...ty-camera.html

It was for my rental property but I never ended up installing it as my tenants moved out and they were the ones that wanted it.

I paid $120 after shipping - if anyone's interested in buying it I'll sell it for $100. It's brand new.
