    Default Value of Tower

I finally got around to taking apart my old computer (most of the parts are trashed anyways), but the tower still seems to be perfectly fine, so I figured i'd try to sell it on Ebay.

I'm looking on Memory Express to see if I can find the retail value of the case, but I can't find it. However it led me to wonder why certain cases cost more than others. I can't really distinguish any tangible difference between the cases (it's got slots and it's a big case for the parts), so I'm wondering what sets cases apart.

a lot of it is personal preference. Lots of things to consider, what shocker said, plus maybe the number of drives you want to put in it, the type of cooling, your video card(s) may make the size consideration different (some are huge), layout, which may also be effected by video card, power supply location, drive bays and other "toolless" options for easier access, and aesthetics, windows, lighting, fans, etc etc etc

But honestly there's almost zero market for used cases unless its super high end.

It's not the size that matters, it's the taste it leaves in your mouth.

Holy shit I must've been smoking something. I meant kijiji or beyond instead of Ebay.

post a picture of your tower.

I remember back in the early 2000's when this type of case was pretty popular.
I still have mine in yellow (AMD rig) in the garage

Also some cases come with other components pre installed. Such as Power supplies, fans, Fan controllers, Lighting controllers, usb hubs.

Modular type cases tend to get up in price. Tempered glass and RGB is all the rage right now and its hard to find a new case without it. Watercooling support is also something all the new cases must have.

I think you'll find it pretty hard to sell a old used case without pretty much giving it away. You can get some pretty good cases for well under 100$

I just changed my case out (140$)

Pic of case? Probably also has a brand and model number on it somewhere.

You can buy some pretty awesome cases around $100 or less, it's likely not going to be worth too much.

Unless it's a sought after case or a Lian Li don't expect more than $50 for it. Cases are dime a dozen and stupid cheap now.
