Default Refridgerator that takes pictures of itself.

    Best idea ever?

They added a CCD camera to a refridgerator and it takes pictures of the contents every time you close the door. It also sends a wifi signal to your local router, which you can access remotely by cellphone or laptop to view the contents of the fridge from miles away.

    Technology FTW, I want one.

Welcome to 2012. It's a stupid concept because you won't be able to see shit in the back if it's buried. The real killer app is when they monitor what you put in and remove from the fridge, analyze that data intelligently, and present a list.

That technology is some years away. Maybe someone can make a Shazam for food, call it SeeFood or something. Now there's an idea.

I think if they had embedded NFC in every item for your fridge that would be the best, basically stores would no longer use UPC / Barcodes for food, they would just have NFC. Even for things individually like Eggs.

This way you could have a fairly perfect inventory of everything in there.

I'm sure they could bundle it with extra cameras, a simple weight scale and some artificial intelligence so that it would know that the mostly full milk jug on the main shelf was two days away from expiry because that's when you put in in there.

Auto ordering? Could be done too.
