I still think people should weight their picks individually.

Great start to the year guys!
Big changes already! And I don't mean to be an annoying Nancy but you input Jan 9th prices for my picks though they were made well before the open (ex: ORT=2.91$ vs 2.78). Oh well, I guess it won't make a big difference when it's at 4.6$. ;-P

I went with closing price on Jan 9, which was 2.91. Is it a pretty big position in your portfolio? interested in learning a little more about their processes.
Added. Sorry about that.Originally posted by Sugarphreak
How do I get my picks onto that list too?
Also, for those with divided payers. I will add the dividends they paid for the year to the closing price at the end of the year.
I'm sucking...lol

lol. If I cared enough I would, but in reality this is beyond.
I'm here more to raise awareness because I largely feel it a crime when this is not done the way I think it should be simply because I have the passion, and I would largely imagine some of these guys are actually putting down real money.
To humor though, three most recent trades put on and why
SPY Puts (long volatility + looking for meltdown, option skew is at crazy levels again) Currently offside
Short the Dec2012/2013 CL spread (looking for contango / backwardation to cycle through) Currently slightly offside (entered at $2.90, currently $3.10, but short so its offside)
Long VLO / Short Hal (dated Aug. 10th 2011, playing the crack spread against crude price) Wasnt planning on running it this long but differential is at 37% now.
I don't claim to be perfect, but I am read on the subject. I want to educate, not compare penis size. Ask me something because it helps me learn as well

Since the standard margin on my crude would allow me to buy (with 100k bp) 200 contracts (~$500 per spread) at the $1,000 delta per 1$ tick.. I'm onside 26 cents for the spread which yields $52,000. (0.26 * 200 contracts * 1000 delta)
Can you make a little formula which just calculates the net difference of the two futures? E.g. You have it entered where I got in at -3.11 and now it is -2.85 (0.26 cent gain) and then multiply it by the 200,000 to take into account the leverage? Just divide by 100,000*100 to get the gain / loss % on margin. E.g. 52,000 gain on 100k BP is 52% return.
This will make my position a little more realistic compared to the penny stock picks.
Thanks
*Edit.. Since you didn't wanna make it TOO realistic I will ignore margin calls
If you don't wanna do this I will just post my own gains / losses.

So you think because you chose to select futures as a couple of your picks you should be able to use leverage? How is that fair for any of the other picks? Sorry this is cash only no margin/leverage. You are short 1 barrel of Dec 2012 WTI and you are long 1 barrel of Dec 2013 WTI. No contracts, margin, leverage, or margin calls
Hello in*10*se ;
really admire your picks . Could you share how to pick energy stocks? Any criteria and information for your decision.
Thanks you
