White-out conditions at Big White last week, but we had fun!

I think it's time to retire the GoPro Hero.

Y'all need some freestyle lessons that's a lot of failed attempts at jumping
Eh we're just having fun haha.
I need to practice more! Last run with ercchry helped a lot with my form.

Anyone watching Whitefish?
15 inches in the last 24 hours. Looks crazy

Whoaaa
Caught a few runs of the NorAm slope style at COP on Saturday. Some sick skiers. Probably my favorite was watching a guy enter switch into a side hit off the XL rail before the tables and pull a 9 (I think, I lost count). Some serious talent riding in that comp.
All good, I deleted my whole post.Originally posted by RickDaTuner
Haha dang, I thought it was a common thing. Maybe I've just been talking to too many Aussies.
And now I wish I hadn't posted that....
That's rather overly critical. For a relatively new shred, having recreational fun in the pow, I see nothing wrong.Originally posted by mazdavirgin

So park skiers, school me on this. What width ski do you ride? And do you generally go to a wider ski for park riding than you would for all mountain riding or a narrower?
Also for the GF, 5'10" 180lbs wants to ski all mountain (mostly groomers though probably). Trying to figure out what size (length and width) she should go with. We've been to COP 4 times in the last week and each time they gave her a different size (although all in the 160-170 range. No idea what she should be going with

Whitefish Still Getting Hammered
9 inches yesterday

I always used to ride a park ski in the mid 80s. Now my park ski is 98 underfoot. The guys who ride 90% pipe still ride a low to mid 80ish underfoot ski, but for jumps and rails you don't need to go that narrow anymore. I am on the ON3P Kartel 98 in 181 length. I am 6 feet tall and about 190lbs. I love this ski because it has rocker tip and tail so I can ski it all over the mountain and in crud/pow. Its a great one ski quiver, and it handles the park amazingly well. Its also nice having a bit wider platform when landing.Originally posted by J-hop

For your gf, I would say a ski length around mid 170s would do the trick. My wife is 5'2'' and rides a 168. If she gets an all mountain twip tip ski you can mount a little further forward which allows you to go to a little longer.
_____ASP______
current ski quiver:
park, all mtn 181 ON3P Kartel 98
park,all mtn: 181 Armada AR7
big mtn, pow: 185 Armada JJ
anyone in Fernie the past couple days? know what's been open/closed?
Awesome thanks, yea mid to low 170s was what ski cellar had her at. COP was giving her a different size each time and back when I skied I always had something from sport swap that was never the right size so I am useless to herOriginally posted by asp integra

I was at fernie on Monday, everything was open including the polar chair.
Snow was amazing, was able to find some little chunks no one had ridden yet, a couple places waist deep.
The forecast for the next 2 weeks looks insane!!

Looking at their trail map it looks like they are the same as Nakiska and only have a rail park? No jumps? Guess that is the RCR way
What is everyone rocking for a helmet?
I have my older burton hifi and want to change to something a little less big and round.
Tried anon blitz and raider but they don't fit my head well.
Tried the k2 rant and liked the fit but not sure if I like the colours.
Want something really simple, ability to rock goggles under the helmet. Slim but multi impact if possible.
Bit of a brim is ok but has to fit anon goggles without gapping haha
K2 with speakers on it. Pretty nice muffs!
Smith Variance, its super comfy with adjustable vents.
Picked it up for $160
Yea having space for speakers is key. Right now I am rocking the bern Bluetooth speakers in my hifi.Originally posted by flipstah

I will look more into the k2 and smith helmets.
I think I have a funny shaped head or something. No brand I've tried fits me all that well but I think k2 was the best so far.
Billabong toque with pom pom... the pom pom is my branch feeler gauge when in the trees
Just got back from 3 days at revy... today was pretty damn epic even with the hordes of jerrys. First tracks till 11am, but my god the caliber of human beings on that hill has plummeted this year, I've never raged so much at the lack of common sense and curtesy. Lemming line really earned its name today too when about 20-40 people thought is was a good idea to hike it while it was still closed and they were still bombing the hill
Footy for the boys!
Yea I always laugh. 99% of the time it's the shit riders doing that stuff. "Let's hike and get some sick pow boys" ok yea, how about you learn to actually ride first.
Dunning-Kruger effect is strong....
