I'm a big vintage recurve/longbow buff, let me know if you need a hand identifying them.Originally posted by speedog
A few older recurve bows, unsure what will happen with them yet.
Two appear to be just fiberglass jobs. The third is wood and made for a southpaw, will get more info on it.Originally posted by BerserkerCatSplat

Stumbling on to portable reel to reel recorders, older portable multi-band radios, Walkmans, old wooden radios that may or may not work, some weird centrifuge thing. A zillion older PC CD based games, 30+ year old Popular Science, OMNI and Reader's Digest magazines in like new condition.
Any vintage golf equipment. Would like to refurbish old putters for personal use.
None so far and don't suspect we'll find any either.Originally posted by Meback

Damnit I need to not acquire shit to move... Lol
I'm interested in the radios but I'm going to gut and update it, Andy, let me know if you have unfixable ones that look cool.
Looking for smaller tabletop ones
So it's a 1956 Studebaker Commander with the V8 engine. Car is virtually rust free, only rust is over the headlights. Chrome bumpers would look fabulous with just a cleaning and polish. Not sure what will be done with it yet.
Will fuck off, again.

Did you say you had radio scanners?
Also, you have been pretty indecisive on actually selling any of this. Is any of this for sale, or you you just posting and showing off?

I am trying to persuade the executor of the estate to sell some of the more collectable stuff that family does not wish to keep - in a week or two all family will be back in Canada and I can start making inquiries with them to see if they're interested in anything. If not, then I probably will be able to sell some of it off but on my time frame and availability. An estate sale would be ideal but we'd be looking at many, many months down the road for that and my suspicions are that the family just does not want to deal with an estate sale.Originally posted by spikerS

So for now I will post pictures and info up about some of the things and I keep a note of whom is expressing interest in what. The old radios, I can appreciate what they are and I have a few myself but I do not need anymore and I suspect no one else in the family is going to be interested in them so they probably will be put up for sale at a very reasonable price. The truck mounted crane is something that I don't believe any family would want but it would be a shame to toss it into the metal recycling bin, there's also a second one but I haven't looked at it yet.
You need to understand that no will has been found to date and that there is about 40 years of collecting to go through - there are multiple rooms that we have touched nothing in yet, just bear with me. As we get into a room and start tossing stuff and making room, we then begin to find odd things like the centrifuge or the 1947 electric boat motor or the 1970-80's vintage magazines. The 30 and 28 year old Kraft Dinner - I'll give them away for free, party gag/dare?
Oh and there are a couple of analog radio scanners, family has already spoken for them. There are 1970-80's vintage multi-band radios and possibly some CB radios as well - this stuff is mostly in rooms we haven't ventured into yet.

Crazy. Well, that truck mounted crane I would be interested in, CB equipment as well.
I know your pain. I went through the same process when my dad passed too.

No worries, the old all-glass parabows were pretty common but still interesting, if not really valuable. The woodie could be a cool find, if you find time to snap a few photos (especially of any logos or writing) I'll take a stab at putting a name/date to it.Originally posted by speedog

Completely harmless unless broken tiles are creating dust. If they're in a case, bag them up, call a construction disposal bin company and you can likely drop them off for free....Originally posted by speedog

Electronic brick board project kits - there's at least three that I recall seeing and I suspect no one in the family will want them...

Desoldering guns, hot air rework, bench test tools. Parts, etc.
These cool project kits I remember from when I was a kid.
There's a ton of this shit, frequency generators, oscilloscopes, and other stuff.Originally posted by Alterac

Also, is anyone interested in small handheld analog televisions or one just slightly bigger? Also, old portable cassette recorders including an old Realistic that uses a dial instead of buttons for stop, record, ffd, reverse.
An ancient film video unit (before Super 8) with rotatable swap-able lenses - there's a good chance that all video stuff will be sold off as a lot, VHS video cameras, 8mm and whatever else we'll dig up. How about a set of binoculars with a built in digital camera?
Update - I'm keeping track of whom is interested in what in a spreadsheet. Can't say what value will be placed on anything yet but anything offered will be very reasonable, a deal even. It will be months before we can start offering up stuff because we've got months of uncovering to do - one 20 foot dumpster already gone, many more to go.
There are some older amps, some hard drive video recorders (TIVO of some type for one), a large variety of speakers (both automotive and home, some huge ass 16 inch things too). LCD monitors, small ones - either will be giveaways or dumpster bound. Cords (audio, video, computer) and transformers - throwing these out by the bucket fulls.
Honest too goodness ALCB glasses that I pulled out last night, 6 or 8, that look exactly like these - link.

I'm very sorry to hear about your loss
If there's a nice bench-top power supply or old rainbow-logo Apple products I'd be interested in both.
