We got a call from CRA the other day - apparently mis-keyed something on the taxes and made our income $1.4 million

I have now stopped smoking for 1 year, 11 months, 4 weeks, 16 hours, 0 seconds. That translates into 13,116 cigarettes NOT smoked, for a savings of $5,246.40! At 5 minutes per cigarette I have increased my life expectancy by 1 month, 2 weeks, 3 days, 13 hours, 0 seconds.

Got some work friends staying at the house for a while, they all drink Timmy's... so tons of leftover sugar packets.

Instead of throwing 'em out, I just poured them all into the sugar jar.

Been paying off the CC and I'm almost out of their clutches. 50% left and my Excel spreadsheet tells me I'll be good to go (hopefully) January 31, 2011.

You can always get 10-20% off any item that has been repacked and put back on the shelf.

I bought a drill that the box was open (CTire), asked the person if I could get 20% off, and she said sure!

Easy! Took the 20 to the casino and put it on #20 Roulette. BINGO! Took $700 to Baccarat on player, BINGO! $1400 bucks. Bought an ounce of gold.

    Woke up from dream.

    mint.com

Probably the best tool I've came across to managing my expenses. You can link all of you accounts to it, set budgets, payment dates etc. and it's free! Highly recommended!

+1 to mint. Just sad they don't make that app for blackberries.
Yelled at rogers for making me sit on the phone with them for 4 hrs... Took off my caller Id charges for 2 months, saved like 30 bucks.

I've worked out an aggressive campaign in paying off my debt, while saving up on a down payment for a house.

If plans fall into place like clockwork, Excel tells me I would be debt-free and have >$20k for a down by December of this year!

Save $40/week on parking, found a new parking spot = ~$2080/year (minus for vacations/holidays)

I forgot I had a credit at a dealership where I got some work done on one of my previous vehicles until I got a letter last week giving me an update on my account. Took the letter with me to get my oil changed and the guy gave me $5.00 off because he said no one has ever brought in the letter with all of their account info on it before.

Plus I had a $50 cheque from the Honda dealership here for referring my girlfriend to them so all in all I made $14 bucks getting my oil changed when you factor the cheque in.

Called my insurance to let them know that I no longer commute part way to work.

My insurance dropped by half ($99/month now), plus I get $400 credit for the next few months. And on top of that, I'm using way less gas, and putting less mileage on my car.

I did that on Monday too! They were charging both my wife and I to commute even though we take one car.

Finally moved to VOIP for the landline.

OOMA Telo, $3.98/month for unlimited Canada, $99 for the hardware, $65 for a nice corded and cordless set.

Sure, there are completely free VOIP solutions out there, the OOMA seems to do a little bit better in low bandwidth situations.
    Cocoa $11,000 per tonne.

Now that i spend most of my time at school, i've made a conscious effort to ensure i complete my daily poo there.

Savings on TP/month is pretty rad.
