We've paid off my GF's student loans, now we're working on her small credit card debt (less than $2K). I just finished paying off my Alberta student loan. Next month will be my small RBC Student Loan (before Edulinx took over), then slowly work away the Canada Student Loan.
Slow but steady. We're still saving and are near $7000 now in our joint acccount. We still have our own savings too that's growing steadily as well.
Her company pays for our gym passes at Talisman so most of our time is spent there after work, so no more time for eating out or just bumming around.
Keep up the good work everyone!
I saved 50% just by the concept of SHARING.
So my doctor says I should at least take some multi-vitamines just for the hell of it.
On the road I usually buy the 60 bottle pack for $11.00 (plus change)
So I was at the local Wal-Mart with my neighbour during midnight, and the 250 pack was $28.00 (plus change)... however, I didn't needed such a big volume (8 months)
I told my young neighbour that it's good to be taking vitamines, more pills = more healthy... so we split a 250 bottle, turns out to 125 pills for $14.00 (and change), much better than the smaller 60 bottle for $11.00

My list of random For Sale (some free) stuff
I saved $3000+GST on boxing day. I went to buy the 65" LCD TV but they ran out by the time future shop opened. Didn't really need the TV, just wanted a good deal. Asian genetics.
Does that count?

I saved $6,000 in December and I'm hoping to put whatever is in my tax account into savings as well. I'd like to save another $50,000 in 2009, but I'll know by the end of February if that's happening or not.
Unlike the fatcats on here, I do Christmas shopping for myself the week after boxing day. Where people return their broken, unwanted garbage back to the stores, and in turn these stores put them out for fraction of the original price.
I saved $89.99 today at Canadian Tire by buying a slightly broken too chest, only cost $10.00 (from $99.99)
Edit: Well, it's also missing a top seperate toolbox.

I haven't bought a lunch for myself since December, to save money. Haven't bought a dinner for a girl either for about 6 months, usually we just pay for our own.
Destroying anti-US trolls and idiots like broken_legs since 2009.

I have now gone 9 months without a smoke. on average i spent $300 a month on smokes.
9x300=$2700
I have saved $2700 since I quit smoking, but I spent it on other things, does that still count?
Boosted life tip #329

I did my annual check on my expenses and realized I spend 10$/DAY on food at Mac Hall!
Solution: Bought a rice cooker for $45 and a torrent of canned goods varying from $1-2. I cook my food at work now and unlike Mac Hall, it's going to be delicious!
Instant savings right there!
I also opened up TFSA and RSP today at TD.
Smart! Its funny I started making my lunches last year and I enjoy them so much more than what I can buy from Machall. I usually get some nice bread, some good cheese, Turkey Breast, and some nice mayo, mustard etc, (all from superstores). Get some snacks etc, it really makes for a nice bite.Originally posted by flipstah

But, recovering. Finally just paid off the last of my debt. Sitting with a clean slate. Only credit related expense is my car lease.
