So as to keep other threads on topic...
The busy body in McKenzie today (10 reports in an hour) - that must get very tiresome for the bylaw people but something like this property...
This property owner is pushing the limits IMHO - glad it's not across from me. Link to 311 report.

Why though? I'm not familiar with the bylaws but it looks like everything is on their property.Originally posted by speedog

Looking around
Wondering what became
Of what I once knew
Both trailers and possibly the RV would be bylaw violations.Originally posted by 16hypen3sp

Never the less, it's kind of hill-billyish looking IMHO - if you're okay with having to look at that on your street then all the power to you.
I believe the RV would be okay because it is along the side of the house (though it may need to be on gravel not just grass to be legal).Originally posted by speedog

The trailers are violations though as you can't have them in your front driveway.
Pretty sure it doesn't matter people just complain figuring everything is illegal. I have a saved one saying that someone who had their garage full of shit that couldn't fit a car was against bylaw!Originally posted by Sugarphreak
I see a lot of complaints about cars without plates in driveways... is that against bylaw rules?
If it is on private property, why should it matter if it has plates or not?

Part of me wants to live by these people when I get my new place just to mess with them since I actually know the bylaw. But the other part doesn't want the hassle.
See Crank. See Crank Walk. Walk Crank Walk.
- I guess the argument would be where the front portion of one's yard begins.RVs are not allowed to be parked on the front portion of the property or the front driveway for longer than 24 hours (Land Use Bylaw 1P2007)
Never the less, here's a handy CoC bylaw guide - link.
Picture posted of someone drying laundry on their back deck. Complaint asks if there is a bylaw against it since it's unsightly when they peer into their neighbors back yard.
Or the complaint of someone parking a car with no plates on their driveway and parking their car in front of their own driveway.

Just think - if that neighborhood had an HOA, that person would likely be president.

Derelict vehicle 6635 25 Avenue NE. Car has been in the same spot for months with two flat tires and missing a wiper blade. Car is not fit for service and should not be parked on a public road
Not moving car and leaving it on public road - okay
But "derelict vehicle"? lol. A tire that is low on air and a missing wiper blade, time for the junkyard!
Van on driveway on jack stands
http://spot311.calgary.ca/reports/14-00404000Vehicle has been on jacks with no wheels consistently since Friday morning (or Thursday night). Red van.
I recently started looking for a house. Thinking I might move. Yard, get a dog. After reading 311 for 4 days fuck that shit.
Why? 99% of that shit gets closed cuz it's fucking retarded. If you don't have the app, you would have no idea these stupid complaints even existed.Originally posted by frizzlefry

Complainers should have their names and phone numbers posted as well.
This app is a huge time waster for CoC employees that could be doing something more productive than watching this fucking narc app.

I'm no longer looking for a house in Silverado due solely to the amount of complaints I've seen on 311 from the area.Originally posted by frizzlefry

Looks like checking the numbers of complaints is now a critical factor when house shopping lol. Easy way to tell if your new neighboors are going to be a nightmare.Originally posted by FraserB

Koenigsegg, what started as a dream just blew your doors off.
I could not agree more with your sentiment. If someone is going to file a complaint about someone else there should absolutely be some accountability. You would have fewer idiots bothering with such inane issues.Originally posted by spikerS

Wonder how long until they close my 311 complaint with no resolution :P
