Default Condensation under stainless steel sink

Hey guys, wss wondering why the sink or the undermount area under our sink would be wet due to defrosting some frozen chicken left there all day. Is this normal? Is there s fix for this? I tested it tonight by placing ice in the sink snd in about 15 minutes, there was a condensation spot.
    Thank you.

Not sure if serious as you used the term condensation.

anyway, the water vapor in the warm air under the sink meets the colder surface of the sink, and voila, condensation.

Some metal sinks come with an insulation mat glued underneath to a) prevent this and b) keep the noise down.

    Can't tell if serious.

Have you ever had a cold drink on a warm day? The same thing happens to the outside of your glass, do you request a fix for that too?

Probably does and Seth1968's detailed plan to mitigate the issue works in that application too.

How much chicken was it that it took "all day" to defrost at room temps? Jesus.

Maybe it would have defrosted faster if it was "unthawed" instead
