Default Fence/Gate install companies(People cutting through yard)

    People are constantly coming through our front gate, walk past the front door, through the yard and through the back gate where the parking pad is near the garage, wife woke me up last night at 2 AM as all the security lights had been tripped, usually whoever is cutting through the yard is running, this time it was two people walking through with groceries. Its starting to piss me off, I need ideas on what to do;

The rear gate needs to be able to accomadate a vehicle getting through if necessary, and cannot be easily climbed or opened so it must lock. As for the front gate, even if we put a larger one in people will still likely open it, if we lock it how do guests get to the front door?

I'm looking to find someone or a reputable company to replace the gates and fence on our property.

Can you intercept them between the front and rear gate with another division? Frustrating for sure, I'd have my sprinklers primed and triggered from my cutoff's inside the house, but I play dirty lol.

The only problem is the gate is no more than 3 1/2ft tall, they would be able to climb over it, I like this idea but still need a bigger gate.

I could put another gate up but I'm not sure how they would react as we seem to have a lot of riff raff in Shawnessy and we are close to the ctrain. I need to prevent people from getting through either gates.

I can't believe people are cutting through your yard like that, and you even worried about them climbing over again if you install one. You must live in one hell of a ghetto.

Our property makes a nice shortcut to the 7eleven/strip mall as they don't have to walk down the back alley to the street and around the block. I always joke about it being ghetto to the wife, although sometimes I wonder if I'm really joking

Any recommendations on who to use to install new gates and replace a section of fence?

Im not entirely sure I understand the layout of your property or your gate situation, but could you keep a latch at the top of the gate for common/typical use then have one lower down that cannot be reached from outside of your fence? That way people cannot open your gate when you have the lower (inaccessible) latch closed and then when you are expecting company or whatever you can unlock the lower latch for easy access.

You really only need to cut off the back exit. As soon as the people cutting through your yard go in, see that they can't get through anymore, they'll go back out the front and around. After that they'll leave you alone because they know they can't get through anymore.

I'd just put a larger fence/gate in the back and lock it and be done.

This is the view from the back alley:

This is from the front of the house/front gate:

We were thinking of an 3 or 4x5' ornamental iron front gate and 10'x6' wooden double gate for the back.

wow, people actually cut through that? I was thinking like wide open, corner yard, no fences. Any fence builder on kijiji should be able to help you out.

Some decorative longer spikes pointing up for 'pigeon' control would take care of the pests, no?

If they're cutting through by opening your two existing gates, you're going to need 8 ft locking fences and gates.

I'm amazed people do that, obviously no respect for you and must be some trashy MFs for sure

i would just put a 7ft fence/gate at the front and lock it, put your mailbox on the gate/fence, and if you're expecting visitors, tell them to park around back

Maybe even a deadbolt on the gate? https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4ksGFHD9SaM

Why not move the front gate further back past the door, make it full sized and throw a dead bolt on it for a couple months?

i assume he goes out the door to the back to get to his car since there's a parking area/garage back there, so that would be more hassle than leaving it where is.
