That's what I'm doing right now. 1/2 through the 2nd book, but don't have much time to read right now (well, not sit down and REALLY read... can't do it one chapter at a time, lol)

I watched the whole season in 2 nights. Haven't read the books, but the show is amazing. I have to read them now though, can't wait a year for the show.

Roberts death was the catalyst.. Ned's death made it 10x worse. I think things would of been far different, if Ned had been able to take the black.

Ya I just ordered the 4 book set on Amazon for the same reason. The show is fantastic. I'm actually watching the series again but I have a feeling the book will fill in some spots I'm still unsure of.

I read the books for the same reason. Shitty part is I have to wait a few years now for the 6th book to come out

Book 4 was a serious disappointment compared to 1-3. I honestly can't see continuing the TV series into that one.

I had missed the original launch of this series, but was able to record all 10 episodes back to back on HBO. I just finished it last night and I am so addicted. My wife is just as deep into this as I am.

Almost want to read the books, but one usually ruins the other.

Not in this case. The TV series follows very closely with the books. I'm starting the fourth book now and just for the heck of it I watched the first episode again on the weekend and I like it even more now cause you notice all these little things you would've otherwise missed.

iirc books 4 & 5 are getting re-organized when they do the TV series so they flow better. i didn't really like book 5 all that much either.
