Just looked on calgarygasprices.com and it was 98.9 @ costco on sarcee. Gas plus stations in the N.E also listed under $1 per litre. Better Fill up quick everyone!

Ya... I'm happy it's the weekend and I don't have to buy gas again for another few days.

That is misleading. Those prices were all reported last night. Check the highest prices list, they were all reported this morning confirming what the OP said, overnight.

It is probably too late already, everybody bend over and assume the position

$1.089/L many places. So a $0.04 jump overnight.

Not that I want this to become another oil bitch thread, but i dont get how they justify it, the gas that is in the ground, in the transport trucks and on the freighters was all bought weeks/months ago, so how does something that was bought at a lower price somehow climb way up? Not to mention that Saudi Arabia said they could cover any short fall arising from Libya and the fact that most of the Libyan oil goes to Italy, not North America????

The way I understand the at the pump price is that if I buy 1000 L to put in my station tanks at $1.00 and then raise my price to $1.10 when I have 500 L left I will be covered when I have to buy 1000 L at $1.10 but have to lower my price back to $1.00 when I have 500L left because the market has cooled off a bit. So it covers the shortfall by making up at the start. Except my station has capacity for 110,000L

So, as OIL PRICES went up 7% (adjusted for the increase in the Canadian $), gas prices went up 27%.

And we blame the mid east?? lol

And some franchises have a policy where they have x amt of hours to raise their prices to match others otherwise they lose their franchise rights...

As a little kid on a swing would yell

    "Higher, whee, higher!"

8 cents, pah thats nothing... If something should happen to one of the refineries (like forced shutdown because of civic unrest) Then watchout for gas that you can't buy at any price.
    Cocoa $12,000 per ton.
