why is that? Does the auto help it stay in boost at full throttle? Different gearing?

I can imagine a stick V would be a real handful to get all that power down. Fun for burning tires but I can almost hear wheel hop from here.

The auto can launch like a MoFo but I have a bit more weight then the sedans. When I've raced a buddies manual sedan it's very very close from a roll. Since he got his blower replaced on warranty, I think he has managed to creep ahead very slightly but it's still very close.

No issues with wheel hop with this Gen V and a manual. Faster or not, the stick is more fun to drive.

I thought the beef was HP bragging about his uber coupe 6-6, challenges a STI to a race @ Castrol, STI agrees but HP decides it wasn't worth his time and money to go ....

Yep, and the #'s don't lie. Makes me laugh how angry people get about this.

HP knows he will lose against the STI if it's from a dig. His quoted numbers also support this. 1/4 mile mph is similar between the two cars which shows they are similarly matched but the Accord is fwd. of course the awd Subaru will win at the track.

The mental gymnastics present in that article to justify his stance are astounding. Definitely written by HP

    Oh man, I've been exposed.

But really, it is. At least, as much as a 2006 impala SS is with its v8. It's a relatively high hp, 4 seater, non offensive styling, built in USA 🇺🇸, snarling exhaust, affordable fwd "muscle" car. I'm often reminded of my legit muscle cars such as the 98 Z28 due to the seating position, styling and general fun with traction control off. It does great burnouts.

Jack Baruth also owns some pretty potent cars. So all I can say is: great minds think alike.

Jack Baruth also states that the accord will beat an Evo or STi under certain conditions. I may have had a hand in this article.

I'm so confused by that article. He was comparing the acceleration of his 2014 accord to that of his 20 year older Porsche 993 (mostly likely not the 400hp turbo model) like that was something the accord owners should be proud of?

    Also don't really understand this?

I'm going to shoot that down by stating that we are discussing American muscle cars. The Challenger Hellcat might be all-American in conception, design, and even engineering, but the engine comes from Mexico and the assembly is done in Ontario.
    Vs

Honda is a Japanese company, but the Accord is an American car. Much of it was designed and engineered in the United States.
So your shooting down the hellcat because of where the engine and assembly is done but design out of country is fine? Hmmm

I know he probably just wrote this to ruffle feathers and get people talking about the downfall of the muscle car but c'mon!!!!

The Accord is more American (content wise) than the mustang. Only the transmission (Aisin) is built in Japan. It's built in Ohio, American as Apple Pie & Nascar.

It is very sad that the real American muscle cars are being built in Mexico. Does it at least come with a sombrero?

Is the mustang really a "specialty platform"? The base model... although recently a hell of a lot better than it use to be is still a "secretary' car" and it's a large enough boat to be a 2 door sedan... still American built, well besides those transmissions... but traditionally it was a pony car, vs muscle...so that doesn't make sense either where he claims it use to be muscle
