If the swing was hard enough to break both her arms there would be a dead woman there had it hit her head. Crazy.

Seems like a reasonable response to being honked at...ridiculous.

Why not drive to a police station or public place if you're being followed though?

Hopefully the catch the dirt bag and give him his slap on the wrist.

Potentially, also in the article she said that the car passed her and then stopped right in front. She got out after he came out with a crowbar, thinking it was better not to be trapped and that he was probably going to just hit her car.

Welp this reinforces my policy of trying not to antagonize people on the road... or in general. Never know what crazies are out there, doesn't matter if you're in the right if you're dead... even if it's <0.0001% chance.

Wow, that's insane. I'm sure people get angry and have thought about doing something like that but to actually act on it is

Rumor has it that it was much more than being "honked at". Supposedly there is a lot more driver cam footage not released yet.

Not that anyone deserves to have this happen, but methinks there is more to this story.

I suspected as much. The truth usually lies somewhere in the middle, I suspect she didn't just give him a polite honk. Not that she deserved the outcome at all, but I won't be surprised if we learn she did a lot more than she said.

So the moral of the story is to run over the crazy dude instead of getting out of your car

Also in the camp of believing there is a LOT more to the story than what is being reported. It's quite a detailed description that we have been given considering it was obtained in the middle of what is apparently a violent assault in the early morning.

Just like the one that happened a while ago where they were looking for the BMW and nothing ever came of it. That and the investigator they interviewed sounds like it's his first day on the job, "Snitch on your co-workers/friends/neighbors because we don't have a tool that tells us the name and address of the people that drive the supposedly uncommon vehicle we are looking for".

I don't know why people are assuming there is more to the story... Some people are just plain crazy. Case in point the edmonton robot man who crashed his truck into the gas station because the prepay at the pump was not working...

How many silver Pontiac Waves with a seven digit plate that start will B do you think are registered in Alberta?

Toss in the fact that she got an strangely detailed description, the police could have this narrowed down within a few hours.

EPS make arrest in southeast road rage incident

    For Immediate Release:09-Mar-2017 @ 2:05 PM
    MRU #:17R026-1
The Edmonton Police Service has arrested a male in connection to a road rage incident that occurred this week and sent a woman to hospital with two broken arms.

Jared Matthew Eliasson, 28, has been charged with attempt to commit murder, possess offensive weapon dangerous to public, and aggravated assault.

Thank you to the public and media for sharing this information and submitting tips, which led to Eliasson’s arrest on Wednesday, Mar. 8, 2017.

Eliasson’s court date is scheduled for Monday, Mar. 13, 2017.

    Background

The Edmonton Police Service is investigating a vicious road rage incident that left a 34-year-old Edmonton woman in hospital with two broken arms.

Southeast Division patrol officers responded to a report of a road rage incident near 76 Avenue and 87 Street, at approximately 6:30 a.m. on Tuesday, March 7, 2017.

It was reported to police, that a 34-year-old female motorist had been driving northbound on 87 Street when she approached a silver Pontiac Wave that was stopped in the eastbound lane, as she attempted to turn onto 77 Avenue.

The female motorist honked her horn, before passing the vehicle. It is alleged the suspect vehicle then followed the woman to a nearby residential address, where she exited her vehicle to go inside.

The male suspect then allegedly ran up to the female complainant, before striking her on both arms with a crow bar. Paramedics treated and transported the woman to hospital, where she underwent surgery for broken arms.

Is that the same guy who was the victim here?

    http://www.edmontonsun.com/2016/07/1...ouble-stabbing

Court heard Holloway and his cousin were walking down the street after leaving the apartment party when he spotted Jared Eliasson and Christopher Northam and believed they were the men who had “disrespected” him at the suite.

Holloway crossed the intersection and approached the men under the guise of asking for a cigarette and then pulled out a knife and stabbed them both. Eliasson was stabbed five times and Northam once and both suffered internal injuries.

The two victims had been on their way home after stopping at a local pub for some beers.

In a victim impact statement, Eliasson said he lost some of his “dignity” in the “reprehensible” attack and now suffers from fear and mistrust of others.

If a dude is angrily coming towards you with a crowbar, the answer is yes.
