I'm still not 100% set on the GN either, the SGS2 is tempting, but for me its Galaxy Note or Nexus.Originally posted by K3RMiTdot

I know you gave some impressions of the GN, but why it over the SGS2? Is it mainly the screen and ICS?Originally posted by spike98

That's weird you mention that because mine did the exact same thing this morning. It hasn't happened to me with my GN before but I didn't really think much about it.Originally posted by Mitsu3000gt
So, today my Nexus randomly rebooted itself on it's own - anyone know why it might have done that?
I just looked down at it and noticed the really colorful nexus start up screen, then a few seconds later it was good to go again. I checked the version and I'm still 4.0.1, because I thought maybe it was some kind of automatic update.
Any insight on why it might have done that?
Thanks!
My Nexus S did that too a little while back while I was running ICS.

The SGS2 is a fantastic phone, dont get me wrong. The girlfriend is in LOVE with hers. However, the pure google experience gets me every time. I've seen some leaks of the future build of ICS for the SGS2 and it looks like shit...SHIT! I know eventually you will be able to get AOSP ICS ROM's for it but that won't be for a while.Originally posted by GoChris

IMO what gives the GN the edge is:
- Stock ICS
- The screen, the beautiful screen. Its simply amazing!
- Form factor is easier to hold and feels better in the hand compared to the more box like SGS2
- The radio is superior. I get faster data speeds, better signal, and clearer sound quality than i ever did with the SGS2
- Better battery life. Bone stock, easily a day, undervolted and optimized....30+ hours. I had to tweak the shit out of the SGS2 to get to the 24hr mark with my normal usage.
Now there is at least one thing i miss about the SGS and it is the camera. The GN is quick and good for a phone, but the SGS2 camera QUALITY was far far superior.
Really, for most people either device will be satisfying but for me this is the best phone i have had to date. And i go through them like crazy.

yeah for the past week i was torn between the gs2, i'm curious how mcuh better is the camera?
im still awaiting some people to pick up the GN and put it up on kijiji, still cant justify paying 650+ for it yet, i dont think any phone is worth paying that much.
For $650...its worth it. Hands down. Considering that the SGS2 was (and maybe still is, i haven't checked) sold for $599.Originally posted by K3RMiTdot

The quality of the SGS2 is better than the GN by a bit. Some think this is due to some software on the GN that is causing the issues. The zero shutter lag on the GN more than makes up for it though.
damn, wind has this thing prices at $1000 hahaha

Unless you plan on rooting and installing custom ROMS I would go GS2. Stock ICS is nice and all but Touchwiz on my GS2 is still faster and smoother than ICS on the Galaxy Nexus. Turn on a live wallpaper on an out of box Galaxy Nexus.. its embarrassing how laggy it is. I suppose you can improve if you install a custom ROM etc as I stated before. It just depends. I really like Touchwiz to be honest, the hardware accelerated browser is still faster and smoother than the ICS browser IMO. Better camera, and also a better cpu/gpu (Bell version, w/ Exynos chipset). The screen is higher resolution on the Nexus but that is not as important to me, plus overall the phone is too big IMO.Originally posted by K3RMiTdot

Just my two cents.
The battery life on the stock 2.3.3 that comes with the Bell GS2 is not bad but it could be better. I flashed to XXKI3 which is an official Samsung ROM 2.3.5 and my battery life has almost doubled. I am at 78% still since 7 am this morning. 43 min screen on time.

a placeholder price. they haven't announced pricing. It will likely be $650 as well. I'm going to wait until pricing is out from Telus and Rogers, hopefully someone will be $50 cheaper.
Same here. Caught it reboot twice the week after ICS update. Have not caught it in the act since.Originally posted by Unknown303

Reboots are normally kernel panics.
If is bound to happen every so often on android.
If it starts happening more frequent I would suggest an app that syncs on a schedule could be the culprit.
I have yet to have a single random reboot but on my SGS2 I would get them daily.

Your tears fuel me
I did notice my phone was faster after the random reboot haha...it probably just cleared out the cache and whatnot. It's probably good to reboot the phone every once in a while anyways, for those of use who never ever turn it off.
