People that are going to the fights on Saturday, what time are you heading down at?

As far as I can tell:

    3:45pm doors open
4:45pm (ticketmaster has this listed as the event start time)

    6pm-8pm (prelims on Sportsnet west)
    8pm (ppv start time)

There are 2 fights on facebook (4:45pm-6pm?), 4 fights on network tv for the prelims (6-8pm), and 5 main card fights (8pm-).

I'm assuming that's how everything is going?

Holy fuuuuuck, just saw the latest Strikeforce, if you haven't seen it do yourself a favour and watch it just for Marquardt vs. Woodley. It's for the vacant Welterweight title --- yes Marquardt makes welterweight and actually weighed in under 170. I've been a fan of Marquardt for years now (substance violation in the UFC excluded) and it's the kind of finish that I always hoped to see him get and to also get a titlebelt around his waist was also a longtime coming. Good for him, amazing finish.

Anyone "trane" UFC and get to see fighters for their open workouts? Is it the management of each fighter or just UFC that contacts the nearby gyms to organize media sessions?

Fightcard is shot but can't wait for Lombard to murk the redneck

    Definitely a fun experience....
The prelimes were great, however the card overall was mediocre.

Regardless the athletes did put on a show, but I'd say most of the crowd just didn't respect that. Its like the Calgary crowd that boos their own hockey team, boos the underdog who deservingly won the in term title.

Gotta love all the affliction and tap out douchebag loudmouths and the fights that broke out during the main event. Keep it classy Calgary :-)

I'm guessing the crowd was so bad because everyone was mad the card got so much worse from the original plan.

The only good crowds I've ever seen have been Montreal and Brazil...everyone else just seems to boo everything that isn't a slug-fest.

I'm glad I got rid of my tickets before Nog got cut off the card though.

I'd say its a crowd of bandwagon jumpers who jumped on the hype expecting to see a bar brawl every fight...
The same crowd would boo a quality boxing match as well

The reason the crowd was booing is because of how bad the main card was. Dana White even said he was embarrassed about the card, he said he felt like he was at UFC 33 all over again.

The whole night was a gong show, reffing was horrible, judging was horrible and every fight on the main card except the first was was horrible.

This was my first UFC event and I thought it was a great experience, but the Calgary fans ruined it. Not sure if it was just my section that was brutal, but during the main event a bunch of people were chanting "fuck Dana white" or "Dana white is a cock sucker" or "give me my money back" then all the crowd fights started, watched some big native chick go at some dude 3 rows back from me lol. I wonder when the next time will be that they come back. Most of the fans just seemed so uneducated and disrespectful. Never heard so many boos.

Haha a friend of mine was telling me about a guy booing the ENTIRE night, then turned to his friend to ask which one Urijah Faber was . He didn't even know what or who he was booing haha.

Like I said...I think the ONLY good crowds are Brazil and Montreal. It's the same "boo everything except slugfest" crowds throughout the USA too.

I thought the prelims were sweet, same with the first and last fight on the main card. For me as huge mma fan I either cheer or I stay quiet. It's funny when someone is working some BJJ and people are yelling bullshit.

I think the ebersole fight and the Kongo fight put the crowd into a bad mood. That mixed with all the drunk ppl who can only watch a UFC if they are drunk at a local bar.

When people were booing the main event I was like wtf. I thought that fight was very technical

Japan (at least in the Pride FC days) probably has/had the best crowds-at least on a par with Brazil.
