Whoever used me as a Fido referral, thanks! Referral bonus was good enough for 2 months of service.

Fido brought back their 3GB/$15 plan with overages at $10/GB. Still rocking it on an iPhone and relying on iMessage/FaceTime Audio for calls.

Well I WAS aware of the "no support" when I went to PM. That's why their prices are so low, because of it being a "self serve" package. At first I thought "Excellent, I don't need no stinkin support" and then I was "AAAAGH!! I need some support". But after I spent some quality Google time, I was able to figure it out. After 15 years with Bell, and all the phone support I ever needed was usually useless, I'm only too happy to have a good cell package for $38 and no phone support.

It's like an online bank versus a B&M bank. Self serve saves money!

What happened with your PM experience? What was the problem with the no reception and no service after that weekend?

Well after I got it unlocked from telus, I put in the new PM Sim card and everything was working fine for a few days. Then, no reception. I'd go into settings and point the network to Public Mobile. And then it would disappear over and over. Finally found these settings: http://productioncommunity.publicmob...-Phone/ta-p/26

Once I did all that it's been working fine.

Seems like you have a different problem to what most people have which is a porting issue. Weather they entered incorrect information or the system was busy and the porting was stuck or incomplete.

Since you were working fine and it just went dead after the weekend.

Have you checked your mobile network and APN settings ?

^^ Not having unconditional unlimited calling within Canada seems to be the only glaring omission to your plan but 6GB data is good.

I checked again with Koodo today and they said a similar thing as before - no codes in their system to give me anything. But suggested to wait a few days when they launch their new plans/pricing as they might have something in their system to match Freedom Mobile.

I don't know how much closer to Christmas I need to wait but seems like it should only be a few more days if anything.

Anyone have an idea of when Christmas deals are usually launched?

Nope, wouldn't include RLH. However, I'm currently still using a Samsung S6 and they offered a S7 + Samsung gear watch, not sure what model though (they have limited supply of watches to give away). I had to re-up on my contract for the phone/watch but they're free and my contract was up soon anyway.

I just changed my rogers plan to the $50 one too, at first I contacted them and the Natasha? girl is like no we dont offer this anymore since to many people asked for it.. blah blah.. I was like K well ill look for a new plan, I saw Max_boost post in here and then went to the Fido website and they have the same plan for $55/month so I called and didnt even ask for a change and to cancel my phone.

The guy is like why? I tell him the story and his like yah not sure why she said this but we are still offering it and changed me to the new plan without any issues after.

So prob when you call in you should mention that you are switching to the $55 Fido plan if they don't change it..


Only downside is no Roam like home and it's not a share everything plan (lucky for me the airstick i was using is not compatible with Windows 10 so I just cancelled that a couple days ago)
