How is it any worse than the local magazine bench racers who have never set foot in the car dismissing it as DOA because a v6 rav4 can accelerate faster? For every mustang fan that says "Bah, under 6 is the minimum" there are actual reviewers who have driven it saying it doesn't matter.

I'm glad that this car MIGHT be an option for those of us who want an e30 m3 or an old school 944. Something fun rather than a GTI/Civic/Mazda3/Corolla/Lancer.

And yah, if there's a review panning the car as a POS, I'll post that too. There just hasn't been one yet.

And this is what I mean by being annoying. How is it fanboi'ism to point out that Motortrend got 7.5-7.8 in the new 4runner (270hp) which they got 6.4 in the BRZ? At least that's the same rag with the same procedures.

A v6 Rav4 will go 6.3 which is faster than both? So what?

It's like trolling the mustang threads saying "Hey it can't tow a 8000 lb trailer"... Wtf.

I can no longer say fuck this car. Its coming, and its starting to grow on me, perhaps a used BRZ is in the pipeline for me as a track car in the future, but im worried I wont fit as well as they wont abundant.

Shape it however you like, it is in the eye of the beholder. And in my eyes, the specs we have so far do not hint at a rwd sports coupe. Don't get me wrong, at this price point you can't expect the world and with a SS it could be impressive. But I'm an auto pessimist and won't believe it until I see it.

The fact it is RWD might make it less popular for most girls, I'd think.

I see more guys drive MX-5's than girls.

I imagine most of them don't know the difference. MX-5 is expensive in comparison.

The Civic Si, Scion tC, Toyota Celica buying female crowd is going to love this. No doubt in my mind.

    All.

I see more women in Civic coupe than men. Mibz is right.

Now if supply is tight, you probably see less female in them because females are less likely to wait for a car.

As well as any manufacturer's entry level sporty car: 240, Miata, SLK, 1-Series, Boxter, etc.

For guys that want acceleration under 6 seconds Subaru will gladly sell you the WRX or STI. At least there now appears to be a choice. Power or handling. Or if you want both just buy an EVO.

if the demographics of this car end up being like 1 series drivers then they will probably never notice or care.

Signs that RWD/FWD doesn't matter to chicks. At long as car looks good.

A girl I used to work with loaded up the back of her civic hatchback with textbooks because she thought it was rwd. She was in such disbelief that she called her father right in front of me, only to be completely embarassed

One of my gf's insisted in adding weight to the back of her Fiat 500. So I lent her two 45lb Olympic weights to put in the back of her car. It fit perfectly in the rear cargo area, no movement with her rubber mat. It makes a difference, to her.

    PRICE: 25,990 + 1495 freight = 27485 + GST, tire/ac tax.

So off by 15 bucks, happy still.

Still interested to see how Subaru plays the ball. Should be about 1-1.5K over the Scion but that will be way under their 33% ripoff markup-over-USA WRX.

That is decent pricing. Less than I thought it would be.
