LMAO haha really, I test drove the FR-S at Charlesglen right before it went to South Pointe and the person crashed it. My salesman was pretty cool about me pushing it, he told me to go on Stoney and let it rip. I went up to 160 but didn't wanna go any faster too sketch out by the amount of police on Stoney. He even let me corner it at a higher speed too. I think they were just sketched out about the last FR-S being damaged on a test drive. I loved the ride

That's no shocker. The FR-S interior is extremely bland. The BRZ is much nicer inside. Too bad you didn't get a real test drive. Glad to hear more people with some feed back, though!

I haven't heard too much about the pedal setup, how did you find it? Curious how it will be for proper heel-toe shifts?

I think I'll be more excited for this car once there's more aftermarket support and a slightly higher powered model. I think even if this thing is N/A, 250hp and 200ftlbs torque would suit it very well.

No matter, I'll be interested to test drive the BRZ model in the near future.

Drove the automatic demo they had today. I don't mind the interior at all, it's pretty nice for the price range. I found the car to be very slow though, my 08 Si felt faster. Car could really use another 50-100 hp. The automatic transmission is pretty good, comparable to the one in my ISF. Engine sounds like garbage though, again the Si has one of the best engine notes ever.

Does the engine sound rough and thrashy? I assumed there would be the typical Subaru fart/rumble at least on the exhaust note.

It doesn't sound like a Subaru to me. It didn't sound especially good or bad but definitely didn't sound like a Subaru.

They made this one with equal length headers - better numbers, less boxer burble.

Oil filter on the top, no engine cover, and timing chain all good. Replacing sparks will be fun (think they are rated to 100K though)
That's not sweat. It's your fat, crying.

The Subaru rumble isn't really a characteristic of the boxer engine. It's due to the unequal length header design of the exhaust manifolds in North American versions. JDM STI's employ the more efficient equal length runners and don't rumble and most new Subaru engine designs are going this route.

I guess this is happening, potentially offering hybrid boost and KERS:

Toyota GT 86 saloon has been given the go-ahead, according to inside source

The Toyota GT 86 convertible concept still has an uncertain future - there's still no word on whether it'll make production. But Toyota engineers have been busy coming up with a plan B.

An inside source has revealed that the go-ahead has been given for a GT 86-based saloon. Shown here in our exclusive image, the four-door will target buyers in their forties who honed their driving skills on cars like the rear-wheel-drive Corolla AE86, Mazda RX-8 and Honda S2000.

Using the same platform as the GT 86, but with a wheelbase that’s 100mm longer, it will feature what Toyota calls a “keen-look” grille design that appears to replicate the shape of a Japanese Samurai sword.

In addition to the GT 86’s 197bhp 2.0-litre boxer engine, the saloon will also offer a Hybrid R powertrain producing between 250-270bhp, while achieving 10 to 15 per cent better fuel economy than the standard petrol-engined car.

Our insider suggests that the new system will employ F1-style KERS tech, which can recover the car’s kinetic energy under braking and deliver it back to the rear wheels in short bursts. Expect to see the GT 86 saloon on sale from late 2015, with prices starting from £28,000.

Exactly what this car needed. More weight, hybridization and a bigger price tag.

I love how everyone gets horny because they used "F1" and "KERS" to describe a Prius drivetrain.

Not sure what's wrong with a RWD Prius that has some oomph?
