I buy both readymade and custom suits all the time. I wear them everyday so I go through quite a few of them. There are some brands that fit me really well off the rack like Hugo Boss. Just picked up a Zegna suit this morning that fits like it was custom stitched for me. Quite happy with it although it was on the higher side price wise at almost $2K.
Just try a few different brands and I bet you will find one or two that'll fit off the rack.
Was at Chinook after work and noticed even Nordstrom offers mtm. Might be a good compromise from Rosen or Renfrew but have all the selection that a small place doesn't.

I just spent WAYYY more on one than I ever have in my life, even on sale, thanks to this stupid thread convincing me to try on a good suit, instead of my usual cheap crap.
I'm just seeing this at the back end of the thread and I'm scared to read the rest for this reason. I absolutely hate dressing up and you'll only typically get me in a suit for a wedding or funeral. But that said, I've never owned an expensive or properly custom fitted suit.Originally posted by Tik-Tok

I had a fitting with Huey Lam on the weekend and came away VERY impressed.
It's a small, busy shop but he has a ton of samples there to look at. I lost count of the people who came in and out while I was there, but he seemed to be on a first name basis with most of them and everyone seemed to really like him. He's a very friendly guy and really knows his stuff.
He took manual measurements, plus a full 3D body scan, plus compared everything to clothes I already own that fit well. He went over anything I liked or disliked about my current clothes, and put that info into the new clothes. Couldn't have really been more thorough. Shirts are $69 for any material, pants are $170 - $210 or so depending on material. About a month turnaround, so we'll see how it all turns out. He said anything you get from him, wear it for a week or so and if you don't like something, come back and he fixes it for free.
He also fixed a little hole I had in one of my seams in 2 minutes for free while I waited
I stopped wearing suits a few years back....but this thread is making me think I should go pick up some new ones.

Will do. Suits start at $450 I believe, and don't go up too much from there. All the really nice wool was $650 for a suit. I believe he just takes the suit price in any given material X 45% to get the pants price as well.Originally posted by Brent.ff

I also forgot to mention he gave me better material at a one-level-down price so another
Either this will click well, or end up like Mexx/Tip Top/Tristan.Originally posted by shakalaka
