    Hey there shooters,

What are you guys running for hearing protection?

I am currently using some browning muffs with disposable plugs.

I am trying to cut down my weight and still wanting to have conversations with others/use radio equipment.

Any suggestions of gear I can try out?

    Thanks!

Don't forget the sale at TSE.

Hoping to find some good prices on ammo this weekend.

I went to the CSC glock days yesterday, almost walked out with a Sig 1911, going back again today to tempt myself some more.

I use Howard leight impact sport electronics. Indoors with foamies and it's real good. The ear cups won't fit everyone ( they're pretty far off the fit of my $800 airplane intercom muffs), but they work well for $60

    9mm Parabellum

    .40 S&W and .38 Special

Either way, these are some nice sidearms. If I were to ever make use of my RPAL, I'd have a Smith & Wesson or Ruger revolver in .357 Magnum (most take .38 Special as well) and a Sig Sauer P226 or Walther P99 in 9mm Parabellum. Sigs and Walthers are almost certainly brands where a premium is paid for, but for me, an restricted firearm is a frivolous purchase anyhow. Anyhow, my point being that it's nice to have both a revolver frame-sliding handgun in one's collection

4.2" GP100?? Thats about the only revolver I like.....Next to a raging judge I guess, but thats just to have one in .454 (or .45LC would be good too....wish they made on in .45-70, thats a fun round)

Both 1911 pistols are .45 ACP

Almost all 1911 pistols are the same caliber, unless you get one that has been modified to shoot another caliber.

STI makes a whole bunch of 9mm 1911 models. The Spartan and Trojan are especially good value, and are also available in .45 and I think also .40.

Any true 1911 is 45ACP as the original was I guess that's a more objective statement about the caliber.

You're right the .45 is the classic caliber for sure. The 9mm's are nice for those with thinner wallets though .

No doubt the .45 ACP is a great caliber that is exceptionally suited for its purpose, but unfortunately not my cup of tea. Even if I wanted a heavier caliber, I'd probably go with .40 S&W. Though I have yet to try .44 Remington Magnum, it really seems like overkill, though

    I got mine in 9mm cause I have a Ruger SR1911 coming that's in .45. The GP-100 is .38 spl/.357 magnum

Absolutely no need to justify why you opted for a 9mm over .45 ACP, as I mentioned before, I'd do the same Either of those two revolver rounds coming out of a 6" barrel is absolutely solid!
